Hello everyone, my name is Gabriel. I am 31 years old and I have never written a novel before. I work in the Netherlands in a factory. The work is so extremely monotonous and boring that it gives me enough time to let my imagination wander, and that’s how I came up with the novel I am currently writing. My first novel is a psychological thriller about how child abuse and mistreatment can impact the future of the individual and everyone around them. I love the works of Stephen King, Preston and Child, Michael Crichton, among others, particularly in the horror and fiction genres. I’m delighted to join this community and am open to all kinds of advice, critiques, and recommendations you might offer. Thank you very much!
I love work like that, that allows you to think. It needs to be simple, repetitive, and not force you to think about what you're doing, like washing the dishes, scrubbing floors, or mowing the lawn. Perfect times to work out story ideas. Oh, and another requirement is there's nobody breathing down your neck, yakkin' at you all the time. Can't think while listening to somebody talk, or having to talk to them. It hijacks the brain.
that's exactly how it is, except when somebody around you is bored and starts talking at you non stop thanks for the reply!
Welcome @Gabriel Mascitti, I have left a lot of room in my brain in case something comes along that I think might be interesting. I have taken a couple of stabs at writing a thriller, but the intensity of making one thing happen after another was too much for me. I'm happy just having a single dramatic event happen somewhere near the end of each chapter.
