Welcome to WF.org, but that's not really telling us a lot about yourself. Who are you? What, other than horror/comedy do you write? How long have you been writing? What's your background? Whereabouts in the world are you? What are your hobbies and specialist areas of knowledge? What are you looking for on the forum, and where do you think you'll be able to help other writers who post here?
I dunno about this thread. IMO, it works better when people post a dedicated intro thread - posting in this one limits replies and isn't really conducive to more detailed intros.
Welcome, Anthony. I deleted your thread with the PDF. We don't allow links or attachments for critique. All works for critique need to posted directly into the Workshop, please.
Okay... I did first copy and paste but all words in italics were reset back to normal for some reason. I'll try again, thanks. But what is the upload option usually used for?
Yes, I didn't have much time for that post and it was rushed. I will be reposting without an attachment.
I have no idea what you're talking about. I'm trying to figure this out, and snobby attitudes like yours don't help.
Come on bro that's not really called for... all hes saying is that we as a site might be better served by each new member posting an intro thread rather than posting in this thread which is more of a catchall... he didn't intend any criticism of you. on your other question the upload button is meant for pictures, work for crit needs to be posted in the workshop thread... reason being that links and attachments can contain malware so its not fair to ask people to click on something from an unknown. to figure out the site you might want to look at both the Forum Rules and the New Member Quick Start
I am 42 years old. I write mainly for children and I also write fiction stories for all ages including adults.
Hello Everyone! I am dipping my toe into the icy-cold waters of writing. I had some talent for writing when I was in middle and high school and even thought of becoming a writer and told people so. Very long story short, that never happened but I became an architect instead. I suppose the stories I had in me became the building blocks of my chosen profession. For now, I get enjoyment out of writing narratives, proposals and short essays of the work my co-workers and I designed. Well, I have some ideas on what I would like to write, and it will be a story of a space cadet entering the "space coast guard/fire protection" arm of space travel. I have gone so far as to have a story and background for each member of his family. All I need to do now is start writing and get some research in. I hope to read and learn more of the writing craft and I will welcome any comments and criticisms that will help.
Hello and welcome to WF.org! If you have any questions or need help with any aspects of writing, just fire away!
Good evening! I'm so excited to finally find space to talk about things that I love. I'm new at this and want to learn everything at once. I know that's impossible so let me put the brakes on... Take a breathe and learn from all of you... Have a fabulous evening everyone...
Hey guys, If any of you ever perused (url deleted) Then you might recognize me from there...I just thought I'd make an account here and network a bit more with fellow writers. Im 30-year-old gay guy who's been working on and off on a gay-themed romantic drama novel since my senior year of high school. I finally completed the first draft in 2023 after a number of failed launches on the pad. I'm currently working on an improved draft, which I'm hoping to get done relatively soon. As everyone else, I'm always trying to find new ways to improve my work and make it the best it can be.
I am a 19 year old who only started writing seriously just about to or three years ago. I usualy write whatever comes to my mind (if I feel like it is worth writing about of course) it can be anything from short paragraphs about something I saw on a street that looked intresting for me to a three-page short story. What I also like doing is keeping a notebook and a pen with me whereever I go because I never know what random encounter, thought, or just an intresting phrase from a person walking by will spark an idea in my head. Does any other writers do the same?
I'm in my late 20s, American. My real world/this universe stories mostly take place in China and most of my OCs are Chinese.
Hello. I am old, and I am taking a creative writing class at a community college. I am working on a novella, which I intend to publish.
