Okay, technically this falls under marketing, if we overlook that it's not working and I'm just entertaining myself with it. The question: Anybody know an alternative to Spreadshirt? They're becoming shittier to use and I'm about done with them. The long version: I'm looking for an online store where I can upload designs and tell them what to stick it on. Spreadshirt basically does what I want, but they keep screwing with their products which results in designs that used to be good enough for, say, a vest now not meeting their intangible demands anymore. And they also thought a picture of gothic Beethoven was Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker, so they can bite me. When I ask google for an alternative I'm mostly directed to sites who offer to integrate a store I already have. What I actually want is a site that allows me to set up a store. It's gotta cover America and Europe and be POD. But the biggest problem is, of course, that it needs to be free. Nobody is buying my nonsense and that's fine, but it makes no sense for me to pay a subscription so I can pretend I've a clothing line. It's fine if the site takes a cut of the sales, though. I think Amazon might do what I'm looking for, but they're this week's bad guys, so that basically doubles my chances of not making any money I wasn't expecting to make anyway. I'll be looking into it later, but other options are appreciated. So, summing up. Online store. Free.
4imprint. they do bulk, tho! its not free, but it is a lot cheaper in bulk form. I've ordered customized aparel from them for library giveways also, etsy. but again, not free. and also, not bulk i made my own t-shirts for a team running event, utilizing my library's Creative Lab. all i had to provide were the t-shirts and stencil. the library cut out the design and applied it. a ot of people come to the creative lab to utilize the machines that make apparel. check to see if your local library has a Creative Lab, Maker Space, or Idea Lab (plus, i dont think any "store" will provide free labor and materials)
Also summing up- Writers forum. This is where we discuss marketing our books not our sweatshirt businesses or whatever other side hustles we might have
