I’ve kind of an idea of what story I’m telling but I don’t know if it would be better written in first or third person perspective ‘I was curious and scared in equal amounts’ or ‘<characters name> was curious and scared in equal amounts’ The story is about a 3 way soulbond (The Tri-Force!) where 1 character (The Spiritual Guardian) searches parallel universes to bring 2 souls who were twins in a past life back together again. ..as the second twin is needed to save the first twins life. if referring to the twins by their names throughout would it be less confusing to use ‘I’ as the Narrator telling the story?
The question shouldn't be about whether it is less confusing or not. It's about (and should always be about) whether the POV serves the narrative needs of the story. If it's first person, then it should remain in the POV of one character, which automatically makes the story personal to one character and renders the other twin a "lesser" twin. Third person would allow you to shift POV between the twins more easily and means they can be more equal in the eyes of the reader.
There’s 3 in the story…. Telling the story from the point of the spirit guardian who is hunting for the other twin…maybe gives them time to describe the twins in equal measure …. Or I could write it from the POV of one of the twins …so they are then describing more the SG and the other twin …. But it would be harder to conceal a suprise about the SG if speaking from twins POV and describing them to set the scene for the reader.
