Because I must. What's the point otherwise? --That's just me though.

What compells you to write? I suppose it's a desire to see how creative I can be. I used to love to write when I was a kid, but quit when real life got in the way. Now, I've come back to writing and am now addicted to the idea of creating a story from nothing more than a vague idea whipping through my brain cells.

Why do you write? I think it started out a few years ago strictly out of boredom. From there, I got the idea of a ghost story, so I sat down at my computer and started typing. Twenty-eight chapters later, I had a full-fledged novel in my hands that needed a LOT of work. So, now it's become a part of my life and I just can't bring myself to stop.

What makes you write what you write? I have an affinity towards comedy and horror. I suspect it's the case with quite a few writers of the horror genre. Both are rewarding and very arduous. At least for me they are.

What Made you decide you liked to write? Probably started out as a child when I realized I sucked at hockey and most other sports the rest of the boys were good at - football wasn't played to any real degree in my neighborhood - so I tried writing. I didn't suck at that so much, so I went with it.

What Do You Write? I've written a horror novel - the first thing I wrote in nearly ten years that was longer than a grocery list - and I'm branching off into writing short stories now. The ideas floating in my noggin aren't all exclusively in the vein of horror, as others fall in the comedic or adventure genres. If it's an idea that catches with me, I'm not overly concerned with what label gets stamped on it.

    What compells you to write?
    - My mind and the characters and situations it creates.

    Why do you write?
    - To preserve my own sanity. If I don't, then the plot bunny gets very, very vicious. Along with the 'rabid' fans.

What makes you write what you write?
    - The influences I have grown up with; very dark fantasay, very cheesy fantasy, very humourous fantasy and the plain epic fantasy.

What Made you decide you liked to write?
    - I don't know. I think it's biological. ;)

    What Do You Write?
    - Everything I want to.

    Why Am I Here

    What compells you to write?
It seems like I have so many ideas and feelings racing in my head I have to get them out in conversation or paper. If I put them on paper I am not likely to get locked up for the way I think.:)

    Why do you write?
I write to make others think about the subject matter. To spark my reader to use his or hers own imagation.

What makes you write what you write?
To draw my readers in to a different world, to have them come out of their comfort zone

What Made you decide you liked to write?
When I discover I enjoyed playing with words and twisting the English language rules around.

    What Do You Write?
    Lyrics, Poetry, Short Stories, Erotica

I write because i want to tell a story, I want to explain something.

I used to always find myself explaining, or lecturing people, I stopped when i got to highschool. But still, i have so many opinions that i want to share with the world.

I believe that the best way to learn is to be told it, not be taught it. It should casually be slipped into your mind. That's what books have done for me. I will read a book, and a couple days after finishing i'll find myself repeating something from it; a character's clothing style, or something they say. I want to teach people things. I want to show them something that they will never forget. I can do this through writing.

    1. So many things make me want to write. Usually random thoughts that pass through my head, or random things that happen in my life.

    2. I write because I live and breathe writing. I love to do it, and I've been told by friends and by some of the contests I've won that I'm fairly good at it. It's something that I plan on making a living doing, and it's something that defines who I am in so many ways.

    3. I write the things I write because I feel as though they're worthy to be written. <.>

    4. I decided that I liked writing when my eighth grade teacher told me that I was amazing at it and was sincere. I have had a love for writing my entire life, but I always felt like I was bad at it, and I'm one of those kinds of people who can't stand to try something they're bad at. In reality, I wasn't at all a bad writer. I just had no practice. For years though, I spent my time writing in journals and diaries, and I sincerely think that doing that made me a better writer overall, at least in the non-fiction area. Once I had the confidence I needed, I began writing more and more, and soon I had the recognition of my friends (Not just the typical "That's good." that you get from people who lie.) I finally felt like I was ready to test my writing skills just this year (I've really only considered myself a true writer for about a year now, but it's something I've done all my life, as I said before) particularly in the fiction area, so when my school went to a fine arts convention of other schools in my area, I entered the short story, essay, and poetry categories. I ended up winning first place in essay writing and second in short story writing. (Hopefully I don't sound like I'm bragging here. <.>;) So I guess that and a few other things in my life has made me really grow a love for my hobby.

    5. I'll write pretty much anything, but my favorite seems to be fiction (Even though I write more poetry than fiction). I like fiction because you can create your own world, your own life, your own story, your own way. I have total control over the universe I place the characters in, and I love that writing allows me to do that. It lets me think beyond my little box that I call my life to create the most amazing things. The sky is the limit!

    1. I usualy write when I get philosophic thoughts or just when I want to.
    2. I wright to express myself on a piece of paper. I wright lyricses to sing them.
    3. I like the outcome of my wrighting and just writing makes me sort of satisfied.
    4. Well , few years a go I started a diery of some sort. I was drawing ,wrighting my thoughts and things a bout my past there. Some times I get thoughts ( sentences or some philosophy) I want to write. Not to show someone , just to write.
Thats when I decised to write.
    5. I wright poems and lyricses. Sometimes I get thought I want to wright down . Something phylosophic , depressing or just interesting.

What do I write, why do I write it, what compels me to pen words on paper? Ok my forum is in fact the computer, I type not write :p most the time.

Truly cliche' but what I picked up and wrote first, is the core of what I write, why I write and what compels me and motivates me to write. Love.

Ah a poetic bastard, you say, and I say yes, but sentimental too you say, and I say yes.

I write to relieve the pain, I write to express the feeling, I write to relive what never was, and I write to tell a story.

I prefer and tend to write Fantasy and erotica, or some combination of the two, though I've been known to wander into satirical comedy from time to time too.

I write when my imagination comes up with something and pesters me relentlessly until I get the idea down on paper (or computer), mollifying it until it comes up with the next idea. If I have a story ongoing, this frequently happens - a new idea will just interrupt me in the middle of anything, a couple of friends take the mickey as I will forget my keys, phone, anything but always have some index cards and a pen on me, and go a little crazy if anyone steals my pen :D

I write because I would truly go insane if I didn't. I need to express myself, like everyone and I can't draw/paint and am too undisciplined to learn to play music so this is the way I get the creative urge out. I don't always want to write, sometimes I wish I could paint well instead!

I write what I write because things I see or imagine lodge themselves as ideas and gradually turn into storylines without conscious prompting and plague me until I write them down and give them some sort of 'reality'.

I've always had a very vivid imagination and never quite liked to live 100% in this world (or 'off on another planet' as my teachers put it) but its not satisfying enough just to have ideas running around my head, plus I have slight memory problems so not all that possible either. As soon as I learnt to write as a child and realised I could get all my ideas down, make them concrete and read them later I was hooked, just took me a long time to try and harness it!

I write poetry sometimes but mainly fiction, in the sci-fi or fantasy genre because that's where most of my ideas seem to fit. I have little interest in writing crime or horror, prefer to read them and no interest in writing or reading the typical 'chick-lit' style of romance so I hide squarely in the weird and fantastical.

    What compells you to write?
What i'm inspired by and my thoughts to be written on paper and used for other things.

    Why do you write?
I was really passionate and enthusatic about writing by the age of 8/9 and wasen't really influenced by anything , i just loved the feel and ideas of my thoughts going onto paper and the intention of making believeable characters and using your immagination vivdly. I guess thats why.

What makes you write what you write?
In my stories i really x2 love orginality , i don't see many authors posting stories which are a 'carbon copy' of another author. I love the organility and creation of story writing. I write along the lines of sci-fi , emotive , immaginative , humour! =)

What Made you decide you liked to write?
My intention , God , God had a path for me to take and i guess it was the love for writing.

What Do You Write? I think i've answered this already =) hehe , anyway i don't mind typing it again . Sci-fi , emotive , immagination and humour! Wooho! hehe

    Why I write?

Goodness! What a question...Um. How am I supposed to answer that? I don't believe I need to answer...and give an accurate answer, because I can't particularly say. I think a part of me simply likes the idea of writing. The word "write" is extremely compelling, don't you think?

Then again, if I didn't like to write, I'd still be wondering how to spell "extremely".

I also thought that maybe I just like the sound I make when I press keys on the keyboard. "Clickity click!" It's so catchy!

You see? I can't answer this very accurately.

    What compels you to write?
I don't know, but if I don't write then my fingers start to itch.

Why do you write? The purpose I'm hoping to achieve is unknown. Inwardly, I hope to become a super famous published author, but the reality is, I normally type in places where very few people even see my typing anyway. I'm shy. I also keep journals, many journals, which nobody reads.

I think I write because writing is the best way I can be truly myself, not influenced by anything other than the thoughts going through my head.

What makes you write what you write? When you ask me, I wish I can tell you! Nothing makes me write what I write. I don't even make me write what I write. It's something called an "urge" I think...

I'm very self centered and tend to include references about my own experiences a lot, mostly about conversations I've had recently.

What Made you decide you liked to write? I decided it so long ago. Probably after the 4th grade when I spent all my time trying to write this one children's book in class. I never got the finish because class didn't allow me enough time. It was the longest in the class...and I was proud of it too. The story was about a doll that came to life when nobody was looking and liked to cause havoc throughout the household.

The next year, I got onto the computer and typed out a fan fiction that was about 10 pages long. I considered it to be very long in the 5th grade, and I was proud of it. Since then, I had been working toward improving my typing. Working a little too hard, if you ask me.

...I think I forgot how to talk because of it.

What Do You Write? I write diary entries; I write letters; I role-play; I like to develop characters; I write children's stories, I write short stories. I've never written a novel, though I have always dreamed to. I always thought that I have a lot to learn, and before I try a novel, I should feel absolutely sure I'm ready. After a book gets published, I can't go back, so I want it to be the very best I can do.

...But now I'm just worried I'm not capable to push myself through a full novel. *sigh*

I'm not quite sure...I've been writing as long as I can remember...I think thefirst thing I wrote was this cat-and-mouse story (inspired by Tom and Jerry. I wrote it when I was six. :p). My teacher and my parents kind of encouraged me on it, and I think things just went from there...

What compells you to write? I realize that the talents we are blessed with must be used if we are to be happy in these lives taht we live

Why do you write? I have an imagination that just won't for me its like i see movies in my head and i want to put them out there. The other half of me writes to mold minds and shape people with different perspectives on things

What makes you write what you write? I write what I know, or what I want to know. I write things I wish others would right

What Made you decide you liked to write? My whole life I have been a storyteller and I love to captivate minds. I was the guy at summer camp making up stories on the fly to entertain my friends

What Do You Write? I write a little of everything cause i have been through a little of everything. I mix things up so as not to let it get dull

I write because I have stories. I love stories, and I wish there was more good stories. It's all about the sense of wonder. Every once in a while I'll come across a book, movie, song, or video game that completely pulls me in. At that point I am no longer me, I am the person in the story. What I am reading or watching becomes every bit as real as what is outside. After experiencing a story like that it makes everything fresh and new, full of possibility and promise. The story takes hold of my mind and I find myself imagining what would happen if this...or that...happened. That's why I love fantasy and science fiction, there is so much wonder possible, and that's why I hate science fiction or fantasy that is, for lack of better words, not wonderous. I love the old stuff because they were scientists, they make more magic out of a single atom than most writers can make out of a spacefaring empire. They knew the possibilities. They lived in a time when science was making huge leaps and bounds, when people never knew what was around the corner, but the science could still be understood by people without special schooling.

The thing that gives me the all-consuming desire to write is experiencing a good story. The thing that makes me actually sit down and write is the lack of those kind of stories around me, then my mind makes it's own.

What are the kind of stories I am talking about? Stories like 'Jeremy Thatcher, Dragon Hatcher', 'Prince of Persia, the Sands of Time', 'Cloverfield', 'The Eye of the World', 'Shadow of the Colossus', 'Firebird', 'A walk to remember', and more.

    What compels you to write?
My only guess is that I am compelled to write in order to prove to myself that I am capable of writing decent works of literature.

    Why do you write?
As noted above, I write to prove something to myself. Another reason that I write is because I cannot find something else to occupy me in the same respect that writing occupies me. It allows my mind to wander and explore new depths.

What makes you write what you write?
I wouldn't say that I specialize in one facet of writing. I have written non-fiction, fiction, and poetry on a grand scale. I have no preference of one or the other, but I manage to find myself allocating equal time to each type.

What made you decide you liked to write?
I suppose it was my eighth grade English teacher. She would always encourage us to write nightly in a journal and she was one of the only teachers who complemented her students for their efforts. As a result, I merely wanted to exceed her expectations and I typically thrived on a job well done.

    What Do You Write?
I write about anything and everything I put my mind to. There is no concrete facet of writing that I find myself leaning toward as previously stated.

My love of writing compels me to keep writing, but I write because the voices (that is- the voices of all those characters yelling at me to write their story) don’t give me a moment’s peace until they’ve been captured on paper. ~Goodness, one could write a strange story regarding the mind of the writer and the stories that lurk within. :-D

I’ve always had a vivid imagination, the kind that made me afraid of monsters in the closet and under the bed and in the basement and in the trees on the edge of our property… *ahem* And which also gave me stories that I told during supper until I finally learned how to write.

I have two parts to my love of writing. I like putting words together. I like organizing and twisting and even editing sometimes. But then there is the story that first glimmers through a series of images (I am highly visual) in my head and which I try to capture in essence through the words that I know and confine that story to a page. It is by far, one of the most challenging and engrossing processes that I engage in.

    What compels you to write?
Nothing compels me to, I just do, no other reason. I enjoy it, and, like swimming, it seems natural.

    Why do you write?
I enjoy the surprise, the surprise of what happens in the end, or how I get there. That is why I write, I can go on an imaginary journey around the world and beyond that I will probably never be able to do with a teacher's salary.

What makes you write what you write?
The images in my head...honestly. I get a picture or an idea in my head, and the story forms from there.

What Made you decide you liked to write?
My 8th Grade English teacher, she had a year long assignment "Writing Workshop." We had to write three assigned types of writing a quarter, and we had a choice for our forth.

    What Do You Write?
Similar to the 3rd question, the pictures and thoughts in my head. I don't stick to one genre, but it is fiction, as I write about others and not myself, making things up as I go.

What compels you to write? Experiences. If something is bothering me I will take it and try to find meaning within a story. I sometimes feel i open up more as a character in one of my stories, and can express what is going on through a tale.

Why do you write? I write because it helps relieve stress. I write because it gets me away from everything, and I alone control what will happen next.

What makes you write what you write? I write fantasy because nothing is impossible within a fantasy. I can have people shape shift, or disappear, fly. Nothing is closed off to me.

What Made you decide you liked to write? I decided I liked writing when I wrote a story that made my little sister have nightmares. Mind you she was only 11 at the time but it was amazing to see the reaction. I thought if i could scare someone with my words then maybe i can make them happy, sad, and even excited.

What Do You Write? Lately I write a continuing blog about myself and stuff that happens on a day to day basis. Only not many people know this because all of it is twisted to a fantasy story.

1:A little nagging feeling that tells me 'put your hands on the keyboard and lets see where I take you'.

2:To get ideas down so I don't forget them and so others can see them clearly.

    3:Answer #1

4:The ease I find in doing it, the feeling I get when I know I've improved and the good reviews I receive from others who read what I've written.

    5:Whatever comes to mind.

Snippets of anything will get my pen to paper and begin scribbling....the sight of an old man struggling to open a coffee cup lid will compell me to tell what I think is his story.

I write because I can...because I have always been able to write...because no one can stop me.:D

I think I'm afraid that if I don't put something down, it will drift away and I won't be able to get it back...Perhaps that is why I always carry a notebook with me. I don't want to lose any thoughts.

I have always loved writing...in grade one I wrote and illustrated a book that today, would have been the hokey-est happy ending on earth, and I really wish I still had it. I can't remember a time that I didn't write.

I write poetry. I write personal editorials in the form of a blog. I write short stories. I write creative fiction. I have just finished writing a children's book.

I write because it relaxes me. It also give me a way to vent my anger, disappointment sadness and pleasure. I am also able to rev up my creative juices and help me to write better, to find out where I am going wrong and also where I can improve
