What compels you to write? -The urging of my many fans; j/k. I guess it just suits my personality to be introspective and engage in quieter pursuits such as reading & writing. Gosh that sounds lame, but there it is. Why do you write? -Because I don't like to shop or participate in sports. What makes you write what you write? -My stories have unintentionally all ended up with the same theme; so I think my psyche is trying to work out some emotional garbage through my writing. What Made you decide you liked to write? -I don't "like" to write, but it's more a case of "needing" to write (see above) as a way to feel okay, to feel whole. The problem is, I'm not a natural or a gifted writer, and so writing is almost a painful process for me. What Do You Write? -Contemporary realistic fiction
usually I am compelled to write when something is on my mind or something tragic happens. I write to get my angst out. I try and cope with a hard situation or overcome fears through pen and paper. I didn't really "decide" I liked to write. I think it started in 4th grade when we had to write a book and illustrate it. My teacher told me I was a very good writer and I should continue writing stories. I did. I just never stopped. I am now 24 and still write all the time. It's just something that is part of who I am. I write a lot of morose poetry about passing and my short stories usually lean towards drugs or suicide. I like writing intense poetry that really makes you feel your heart beating out of your chest.
Hm... I'm not sure. I just know that I want, and I do. Because it's fun creating something out of nothing. I'm into philosophy and psychology so I that influences me a lot. When I found I sucked at every other art. Nah... I don't really remember. Fantasy. Steampunk. Psychological Horror. Not much else.
What compels you to write? -The freedom it holds. I'm compelled to write because it has no bounds and I can put down anything I want, do anything, create anything. Why do you write? -Similarly, for the freedom. I write to become something. Its not the fame, but the recognition. It can be a challenge, to write, and sometimes I just want a challenge. Plus I have so many ideas floating around I have to do something with them. I also write because I like to. I like to sit down with music in my head plotting out something unique. What makes you write what you write? -Dreams, random thoughts, my views on life, and the way I feel. Sometimes I look at something, or see something in a book (even a school text book) and want to write about it. Sometimes my view on the world inspires me to write. Dreams fresh in my mind contribute to ideas. What Made you decide you liked to write? -Hmm. I'm not sure. Books? Role Playing? Maybe because I'm not real bad at it. Its just something I like, that I enjoy. What Do You Write? -ALMOST anything. I try to write from different views, as different people, in different eras. Usually its fantasy, whether in the past, present or future. I can play human, elf, demon, angel. Hero or the villain, over confident jerk, shy girl in the back of the room. I used to play only as males, even though I'm a girl, until I forced myself to write as a female. I mostly write short stories, Role play posts, but I'm getting into poetry.
What compels you to write? Nothing compels me. I just do it. Why do you write? -I enjoy it. What makes you write what you write? -Nothing makes me do it. I choose to do it. My world view is culmination of everything that I have experienced. Because I interpret my own experiences and I can, and do, often re-evaluate my experiences, my worldview is constantly changing. I express my worldview through my writing. What Made you decide you liked to write? -It's easy for me to write. I think a lot, ideas come into my head, and then I write them out. I also like the affirmation I receive from others. What Do You Write? -stories, short films, lists, essays, reviews, interviews, articles, criticism.
What compels you to write? I can't stand blank paper. Why do you write? I've never been great at arithmetic. (I still count with my fingers.) But deep, deep down in the crevices of this cold heart, a thudding pulse is screaming: I love it, I love it, I love it! What makes you write what you write? Because I can, and I do it well. What Made you decide you liked to write? 1. When a junior high school friend called my story "pointless", but could not put it down. 2. When Charles Fielder refused to take one of my writing assignments off his wall the day before graduation. What Do You Write? I write about all those idiosyncracies between myself; family; friends. My stories are half-truths thrown into a blender. I'll be all mad scientist and go: " I've created a monster!" I'm working on nonfiction right now, and will be traveling to Battambong via Bangkok next year to begin the first batch of interviews. It's a personal project; I'm so obsessed.
(compels?) I'm compelled to right because it would be awful to leave nothing behind. I like to create exnihlio, right out of nothing. (why?) And I write because the characters came into existence at my will, it'd be a disservice to ignore them now. Plus, in the end, you gain a better understanding of the world and yourself by doing it. It makes you a stronger, clearer person. And it's fun (when?) I realised that I loved writing while I was sitting in front of the most ancient and lame computer with a horrendously loud keyboard at three in the morning with school the next day and I just couldn't stop. There was nothing else in the world I'd rather have been doing at that exact moment. (What?) Doesn't really matter in the end. It's all me.
What compels you to write? Nothing really. I'll have an idea and I'll just go with the flow. Why do you write? Because there's infinite possibilities, there can always be a new story. What makes you write what you write? Bit of a tricky question. I guess it's because if I think of a plot I have to get it out, and also because of the possibilities. I just write as an outlet, and because... I don't know, this is really hard to explain. But it is like an urge, the urge to write. I create characters in my mind and it is interesting to explore and find out how they would react to certain situations and how that would change their understanding of life. I think I partly answered this in the below question. What Made you decide you liked to write? Well, all my life I've liked writing and describing emotion. I picture emotions in shapes, colours and patterns. I've always wanted to be able to write something that would move someone. Because of this, I tend to write a lot of heartfelt stuff, often with self-actualisation, character transformations, journeys, self discovery or the characters just 'finding their place' in the world. Can't really explain it any better, I would if I could. What Do You Write? I tend to write novels, many of which are unfinished . Mostly character transformations. By genre, usually something involving romance, but sometimes I will experiment in another genre.
What compels you to write? Anything and everything I see. Why do you write? Because I would go absolutely insane if I didn't. Currently my life revolves around working and studying (which I should be doing right now) and if I didn't have something other than accounting to think about, I really would go mad. Writing helps me focus on my life, de-stresses me and frankly allows me to write exactly what I'd like to say to the evil people at work. What makes you write what you write? I write to suit my mood. I tend to have so many ideas that trying to cram them into a short story would be like bludgeoning them to death with a blunt stick. I refuse to write poetry. I think I'll leave that up to people who can actually create something worth reading.

I totally agree with you gamecat... when you write what's in your head, it's like you're telling yourself a story. I think most writers usually have a problem in not finding someone to listen to them. Of course such is not always the case. Most, as it is my case here, people don't know how to express themselves orally, even if they have someone who listens... tough huh?

Money and a feeling of self worth. Why else? I've spent my life in pay nothing factories for God's sake. I haven't gotten any money out of it yet (Not finishing anything sort of gets in the way of getting payed. Bummer.) but the thought of doing that for a living as opposed to the meaningless nonsense that I currently do is what keeps my mind on it. And when I say for money I don't mean that I have some grand dreams of being a millionaire. If I could have a middle class lifestyle from writing I'd be as happy as a clam.
