Well had a "motivation" attack last night. Wrote for 8 hours straight and put in almost 20,000 words.

Not sure if I'll get another chance to really go for it, but this nano thing really does teach you to get those fingers pumping and the pages a creating!

I've been off a while. I got tonsillitis last week and was really sick with it. Still coughing and I get breathing problems if I got outside (because of the cold air I presume).

I've not kept track of my daily totals, but my overall word count is 40,793. Very pleased with progress, though I'm going to have to get a hatchet to it during the edit.

Which, despite, the 'rules' will be December. I'm going to drop all the chafe ready for JanNo and then add another 50K.

And the whole process starts again. Add. Edit. Sharpen. Expand. Add sub-plot. Edit.

Then at some point, publish :D

Added 3,259 words this morning - pretty much my average daily ration - to stop just before the 47,500 mark.
Tomorrow will be the day I wrap up this first story and start preparing for a complete switch from English and a fanfiction story to another language and an original story. The second 50K are the hardest.

    50,885.
The first one's over, the next one will begin tomorrow.
Last year, I did 72K for one story, so that's what set me up to write two 'novels' this year.

I started today, so i'm gonna be pretty far behind.

I've got my story planned out, but I can't get it started, which is gonna be a problem. Once i've started I think i'll be all goods.

I started late as well Jonesy. Yesterday to be precise xD
But I have no plans at all, so you might have the upper hand.
I have 7,049 words so far.
I MIGHT JUST DO THIS! :D

    Don't worry about starting late.

I began my second NaNo today and I'm some 4,200 words into it. If I write 3,200 a day, I can make it to 50K on the last day.

Going to internet cafe to do some work - will have another possible 8 hours of wriiting to do. And if all goes well (keeping of that cursed time wasting WF forums), i might actually get another large chunk complete and i might nactually consider finishing it off ;)

    We'll find out soon enough!

    *cough*Ihave50Kwords*cough*

What can I say? I fell in love with my main character and the story pretty much wrote itself.

Well to 50,000 words anyway, the story is not finished yet. Not by a looooooong way.

I'm stuck around 20k atm, plot holes are assailing me left and right, and I'm not one of those people who can ignore them and keep going. Still, I shall persevere. Too many people will point and laugh at me if I do otherwise, which is according to plan. The ridicule of your peers is powerful motivation

Keep up the good work guys, I only heard of this recently but i admire everyone doing it. I think I'm to much of an editing perfectionist to be able to write so much so quickly.

I'm at 19k but I think that reaching 50 this month is gonna be a little unrealistic...
Dammit, I really hoped I'd manage it but just let a whole week slip by with barely any writing and now - blah! :(

I'll keep going though, perhaps my end word count won't be a total disaster.

Well done to everybody taking part, keep at it! Twelve and a half days left to go and that can make all the difference :D Even if you're only half way there... with 2k words per day you can make it!

I really wanted to do it this year because I tried it last year and was SOOO close, but unfortunately university commitments have prevented me... 2 exams and 3 essays this month :(

don't worry Edi i think as long as you're satisfied with what you wrote by the time Dec comes then 50k doesn't matter. and to everyone who's doing it keep up the good work!:) right now im on 30,749 words and i plan to at least have 35k by sunrise in 6 hours.

    NaNoWriMo? Anyone else doing this?

    http://www.nanowrimo.org/

Not sure if this has been posted anywhere else but feel free to move it or direct me ...

I got started late - November 7th but am up to 19,300 words today!!:D Over a third of the way there...it's tough and requires WAY more dedication than I am used to with my writing, but perhaps this is what I need to kick me in the butt...

Just wondering if there is anyone else in the forums who have undertaken this challenge...and what obstacles you may have encountered...how you keep your motivation etc...

Don't give up if you've come so far and are still on course only one week to go. Just think of pride at end and then the copious editing afterwards as a matter of interest where it will probably jump up another 20k just as you flick through it and add bits to make it better lol

5,000 words to go. Cant believe im actually going to finish. Oddly enough 90% of what i've done has been done in 2 marathong nights of writing.

Will probably finish it off tomorrow night.

I'm currently sitting at 33,000...I think I should be able to bang off another 17k - the cable guy is supposed to come to my place between 5-9:00p.m. so I have to be home...I think I'll just sit and write the entire time.....

They just wont' be quality words...But I have December to deal with all that...

This has totally been a challenge.
