I am wondering about giving soccer another name as it preceded American football. Would the term "club football" be a reasonable alternative? I don't believe I have seen it anywhere, though I suppose the sport isn't that popular over here. In fact, I really don't watch it myself.

The Dalek is the most feared foe of the Doctor. Battle armour that can pretty much absorb anything short of a nuclear blast, levitation, and the unerring ability to make small children cower behind sofas the world over are just some of the equipment that makes up its arsenal.

The Doctor from Doctor Who. Timelord. Two hearts. From Gallifrey. Has a sonic screwdriver. And the TARDIS.

    Evening, Emily.

I keep wondering whether to keep my beard or lose it. Anyone have any preference?

I was leaning that way, but popular opinion has been against me until now.

I'm lazy. So I usually have short hair because I hate messing with it (I buzz it short) and a scruffy beard because I hate shaving. :D

I'm growing both hair and beard. I'll look like a Jedi Knight before long.

And Dan jumps in, and it seems there is a conversation, of guys, about hair.

I used to have long hair (you can just about see it on my profile pic, tied up and down my left shoulder), but had it chopped short about a year ago for a spate of job interviews. Did I have to? I don't know, but I got the job. A lot less messing around too. I don't have frizz days anymore.

I have a little beard and lonf sideburns though. I think every male has exceptional growth in one area of facial hair. Mine is definitely the sideburns. Had 'em since I was 11.

They didn't care that I stopped going until I had my name removed from the records. I honestly think the church I went to doesn't so much care about who actively attends as they do the official number of "members" they have.

I honestly had a huge plan to answer the door naked holding a beer if missionaries ever came to my house. Then I decided hmm...a pair of 19-21 year old boys who are greeted by a naked, fairly toned 23-year-old woman...maybe wouldn't deter them so much as encourage them...

I don't have a problem with people sharing their religious beliefs/practices with their children or talking to people who are interested with what they believe. I have a problem with people who try to force their beliefs on other people, which is exactly what the church I used to go to does. I'm not a big fan of people with "my way or the highway" attitudes, and most of the missionaries I havce come across pretty much embody that attitude.

I think it's one thing for you to believe a certain way and share your beliefs with someone who is interested in hearing about it and quite another to go door to door or gas station pump to gas station pump trying to spread the good word.

Agreed. If I wanted to learn about JW or get back into Mormonism, I would look into it on my own. If I want to pay someone to come in and spray my house for pests or fix my air conditioning, I will call someone and make an appointment. I don't particularly enjoy people coming to my door and making me feel rude for not listening to them or turning them down.
