I read everything I can get my hands on, but my school library is not well-equipped. It's a really big library, but most of the books are old and boring (to me) in the adults section, the kids' section is all picture books, and the Teen Corner, which is filled with books teens like me supposedly like, is full of manga books and random stories that I know none of my friends/enemies/frenemies would ever read. Plus, most of the books on the shelves are gone, and the ones that are there are in horrible shape. I've ceased calling it a library; it's now the Understocked Place, or just the Place. They didn't even have Wuthering Heights!!! >xp What library doesn't have Wuthering Heights?!?!?! Oh, right, the Understocked Place doesn't!!! >XP
I'd have to go with General Fiction. I especially love novels about controversial issues, or serious issues written in the character's personal point of view. Such as eating disorders.. I want to read something in a character's first person POV.
The one I picked was science fiction, but honestly I like to read a lot of different things. I read fantasy, science fiction, and general fiction sometimes too.
Definitely just General Fiction. I'll dabble into fantasy and sci-fi every once in a while, but not that much.
Used to be Fantay, but all i do it pick up junk these days... Im liking thriller the more i read of the genre i must admit.
I haven't got a favourite as my interest changes weekly one week i am reading historical romance the next sci fi at the moment i am into going by author i have been reading Philapa Gregory, Dilly Court and a couple other histoical romance authors although i am 15 i hate soppy teen fiction i enjoy getting a big chunky book from the adult section and opening the first page to delight in the words
Hmmm... nice poll but no Military Non-Fiction? I had to go with other. I read military followed by Spy non-fiction, thrillers, and occasionally a sci-fi, which is weird because all I write are sci-fis. lol
I guess General Fiction? There's no genre I refuse to read; I'll read anything as long as it appeals to me. I also enjoy romance, but not of the bodice ripper variety.
I guess my heart is with fantasy and SF, but I have favorites in most genres. I do tend to find murder mysteries boring and repetitive, though.
My favorite Genre to read really depends on the actual read of the book. But I've noticed I tend to lean towards Fantasy (historical fantasy to be exact). The history makes me believe more than had it only been well written and created. A splash of history always confuses my senses enough to pull me in until I've forgotten it is all just a story. I think that is why my favorite author is Stephan Lawhead. He is amazing in this respect.
its close between science fiction and fantasy but i would have to say fantasy is just that little more exciting lol
I really don't care what genre it is-except westerns. That is the one genre I can't bring myself to read.
Erm, I really don't care what genre it is, if I like the look of it, or the synopsis, I am going to read it. I don't mind at all, considering I used to mix Enid Blyton, Frank Herbert, Tolkien and C.S Lewis when I was a kid.
Mostly I read crime, but I don't mind what genre it is. Other than stupid romances like the Shopaholic series. They just bug me
Well, I find myself going after either humour or horror most of the time. I am happy to read books from other genres too, but I think these are my favourite ones at the moment. But for example crime and western have never really done it for me.
Well I read a lot of stuff in my younger days and what stood out the most was what Joseph Campbell had to say. These days, I'm reading (Scuba) Diving stuff mostly...and the odd Forum. I really don't care what I read, as long as it is good and original. I guess that could possibly be 10% of all genres?
My favorite genre to read is horror, mostly due to being introduced to horror roleplaying at a young age with my friends. Yep, from roleplaying, to storytelling, to writing horror stories. Good times!
Well, I mostly read like... Well i guess you could call it drama. I don't now i read alot of everything.
I just really looked at this poll and there is a lot of people that dig fantasy! I knew it would be at the top but not by that much lol I would like to see more people vote. The numbers don't seem that big at all.
Usually horror and extremely peculiar books... I use to love fantasy as a child but as of late, I've grown to loathe it...
