    As Rome Burns by Primordial.

Black metal with Iron Maiden-esque vocals? Madness you say! Well, perhaps a little mad, but mostly just amazing. ;)

I'm currently listening to "Whip It" by Devo.

I feel like my music is very different from the music everyone else is listening to...

LOL. I'm not a Devo fan myself, although Whip It is somewhere in my closet, but the genre isnt bad at all! :)

Look, look Ma! Look what I did, Ma! Look what I did to my hands, I broke 'em. You gave me the stone, gave me the chisel, didn't say how to hold 'em. Didn't say to give away every piece of the puzzle 'til I was left with nothin'. But I took it upon myself to crush it up and distribute the dust...

    "Shespider" by Mew
You live a nice life with the spider in you. I have simply decided to dislike you now.

I wish Mew had a bigger fanbase... might prompt them to be a bit more fruitful in terms of their discography.

Coheed & Cambria, The End Complete. I'm very happy with No World for Tomorrow, but I still have to check out the earlier stuff. But... if this is the end, what are they going to do next?

They still have parts 1 and 5 to go!
And I'm sure Claudio will come up with some awesome additions to it once he's done with those.
(Have you seen them live? He's super amazing, as is his hair :D)

I feel very out of place on this prog/rock dominated thread, but...

Yes, I'm sad enough to tune in to Radio One just to hear the latest Muse offering. I like it.

Yeah, like Aaron said, they've got to go back a little bit in the story, I think which will be with the next album? Not sure on that one... and part five.

Claudio has a side project called the Prizefighter Inferno which he balances pretty well with C&C; I imagine he'll put more efforts there after the story wraps up. I know a few of the other guys have side projects too, but I'm not qualified to say anything about them, as I havent actually listened to anything other than C&C and Prizefighter in regards to these particular guys.
Maybe they'll come up with a whole new storyline? That's my favourite idea, but it's also probably the least probable.

    Glad you like it, Agreen!

I havent seen C&C live... I dont get out to concerts too often, actually. :( They came by my state, finally, last year, but the tickets were out of my price range, and most of my friends werent willing to part with money to see a band they dont care about.

    I'm now listening to:
"I'm Looking Forward to Joining You, Finally" by Nine Inch Nails
thought he had it all before they call his bluff, found out that his skin just wasn't thick enough, wanted to go back to how it was before, thought he lost everything... then he lost a whole lot more

    *ooooh, chills!* :)

Van Canto, Wishmaster (cover). It's.... something else, but just awesome. I prefer their cover of Battery over the original, because I hate Metallica :p Seriously though, I highly recommend at least checking them out. I would say they are pretty unique.

Arron: I've not seen them live because I'm still a new fan, but I will next time they come to Toronto. I have seen live videos, and I don't want to think of how much work it must be keeping that hair in good shape on the road.

As for their next album, wikipedia claims it's going to be a prequel album. That an entire album can be a prequel is pretty awesome in my opinion.

    "Convenience Stores" by Buddy Wakefield
I love this. The woman he describes is someone we all know, and the connection he has is something we've all felt.

It's not 'music' (although there is a piano! Which is the best instrument...ever!); Buddy Wakefield is a slam poet / spoken word artist, one of the best on the planet. You need to listen to Buddy. You need to.

I'm so excited; he and Anis Mojgani are coming through my town near my birthday with the Elephant Engine High Dive Revival. If you havent heard Buddy, he has some mp3s for free on his Web site, and a lot of his poems are on YouTube.

"Convenience Stores" is one of my favourites, but if you're just now hearing about him, listen to either "Human the Death Dance" which is uplifiting if you listen to it the whole way through, or "My Town" --a politically charged and absolutely hilarious poem. Try to find a live clip, if you can. The power of his words increase tenfold when you have a visual.

Edenbridge, What You Leave Behind. Another symphonic metal band in the WT and Nightwish style. I like their singer, she somehow sounds in the middle between Tarja and Annette.

Also, The Light and the Glass is my new favourite Coheed song. I still don't quite know what the story is about.

Close, but I'm going to have to go with the harpsichord for that...

The Light and the Glass is one of my favourites as well. :) It seems to have it all.. well, everything except that awesome guitar solo near the end of Welcome Home.

If you want the whole story, albeit not very well written, on the forum Cobalt and Calcium there is an entire subforum dedicated to the story. A sticky called The Amory Wars Sumamry can be found there.

I actually dont know the whole story beyond the lyrics, actually, either. I havent been able to get my hands on the graphic novels, which is how I really want to understand the it. I heard there are free copies floating around online, but. For a project so epic, I feel like I should part with my money for it. Which is weird for me. :p

    Currently listening to:
"Devil In Jersey City" by Coheed & Cambria

As for Edenbridge, I'll have to check them out! :) Nightwish is my favourite symphonic metal band --or at least their pre-Annette albums are. I'm sure Annette is lovely, but I dont think her voice can hold a candle to the kind of music Tuomas composes.

Van Canto, Hero. I'm not sure if I like them as much as I think they do, or if I just find the concept of their band so brilliant I can't help but love it. I would like to hear some of their songs, Hero especially, performed with traditional metal band instruments to here if it holds up as well as their version.

From the No World for Tomorrow lyric book, it seems to involve zombies and demons, and robots. It actually raised more questions than it answered. If I can find the graphic novels I'll check them out. I am reasonably convinced that In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth 3 involves a fight scene. The rest remains a mystery. The best would be if they can ever make a movie or Ayreon-style musical.
