Cog - Go figure hey, its a character flaw. You need to listen to this cog Its a nick Cave same (featuring Kylie Minogue) - "Where the wild Roses grow" Its about a husband murdering his wife, yes its the most beautiful song i have ever ever heard.
"Hide and Seek" by Imogen Heap One of the most touching songs I've ever had the priviledge to hear. This is beyond music... Very sad though. Hide and seek. Trains and sewing machines. (Oh, you wont catch me around here.) Blood and tears --they were here first. Mmm, what'cha say? Mmm, that you only meant well. Mmm, well of course you did... About a lover living a double life, with another family.
Mutiny - Pendulum. (One of) my favourite songs, even though it sounds like they just used all the riffs they had left over when they were making In Silico, but if you listen, it still has a pirate feel to it the whole way through. I love it.
Sister Rosetta Goes Before Us - Plant/Krauss Effing awesome. A mystical, gypsie sounding beat with beautiful singing!
He's barely even in it...He just does backing "oohs" and "ahhs". Specifically for his work in Zeppelin, Plant is one of my major vocal influences. I prefer Krauss's voice to Phillips. Moving on to: Broon's Bane - Rush
Fireflies--Owl City. I adore Owl City, although the "ten thousand lightning bugs" bit makes me cringe in this one. Except for that minor detail, Owl City is pure gold.
"I Wont See You Tonight (Part 2)" by Avenged Sevenfold Not much a fan of the 'screamy' music, so I'm happy Shadows made the transition to all singing, but this is one screamy song I really, really love when I'm in a "hate" mood.
Children of Bodom, Oops I did it again (cover). I find it much more entertaining than the original. Yeah... as much as I like and admire Led Zepplin, I've never really liked Plant's vocals.
^ speaking of britney covers, heard Yael Naim's Toxic? Its adorable! Though now that I think about it, I'm thinking maybe "adorable!" isn't really your thing XD
I also enjoyed that more than the original, though in the case of Toxic that simply means it had to be listenable. I do like it though, and there is a room for 'adorable' in my playlist, though it is quite small and often French .
The Feel Good Drag -Anberlin... BEST SONG EVER OF LIFE... seriously... sorry just had to put that out there. LOL
I'm trying and failing to think of another vocalist doing The Immigrant Song and doing it well. I love Plant's voice. Especially in the older stuff like Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You. Very powerful. Even their later stuff like Achilles Last Stand, which, in my opinion is probably one of the greatest Rock songs of all time, I thought he was great. There was alot of emotion involved in his singing and it really showed. Especially in All My Love, which is about his son who died. You can really tell he's heartbroken in it. Of classic rock vocalists, one that I never really did care for was Brian Johnson, though. That guy makes me hurt on the inside.
Lori Liberman - Killing Me Softey With His Song Roberta Flacks version is probably the best in my eyes, but you just can't go past an original in this case. Oh, and i was youtubing this song, and can't believe Susan Boyle is putting it on her album. I heard it and wanted to cry. I thought she absolutely butched it. (COnsidering the whole maning behind this piece)
Ahhh...good song. I might need to get this one for my collection. I mean what else am I gonna' do at 12:50 in the am? LOL
I will always remember the Fugees verion in the mid 90s. Got me into the ealier versions. No doubt - Don't Speak No Doubt - Im just a Girl Im not sure which one i love more. I dont think i could ever seperate them. (Go the 90's)
