I am watching Mrs Palfrey at the Claremont which stares a youngish Rupert Friend. I am just now noting a rather peculiar correlation between British gents named Rupert and hotness. Rupert Friend Rupert Graves Rupert Everett Is it a requirement? Upon the onset of hotness do they all change their names to Rupert?
Those are gorgeous men, I wonder why I never really liked the name Rupert. It's officially my favorite! LOL
Actually, it is. Had someone just told me, "Hey, there's a new show where a werewolf, a vampire, and a ghost all share a flat and have to get jobs," I would have said, "Ugh! Groan!!!!" But since it is delightfully British and dry humored, it works well.
Th inclusion of Aidan Turner (classic hottie) and Russell Tovey (nerd-boy cutie) definitely add to the watchability of the show. For me at least.
Plus the show gets a TV-MA warning displayed on the screen after every break. Which means, especially on BBC America, "You lucky git! You've got BBC America and get to watch shows that bloody puritanical American censors would never, ever, ever, not in a million years, even if their granny asked really niecely, would they ever show on your networks. Get ready for bums, boobs, bad language, and the occasional surprise full frontal."
I'm not a self hating American, not in the least, but since getting BBC-A, I've found it difficult to watch American shows. American TV is too... soft.
Hello American TV has a lot of competition between video games and fantasy books, which has stolen a lot of the adventurous youth
Part of me hears you, part of me knows full well that British youths have access to everything that American youths have and probably more. US TV is still really lame and corny.
Agreed, but if TV had boobs on it when I was teenager, I’d probably have put down the controller. That could have something to do with it
That works for you, Jon. Latin TV, coming of course from Latin culture, is not disposed to satisfying... other... differently oriented requirements. British TV seems to be much more modern in that respect.
Thank you. I'm glad that the adorably cute nerdy boy has been added, finally, to the list of desirables.
