Ah, I thought I had stepped into some dung there. Lot's of people around here are super sensitive to the mention of it, so I think that's what caught me blind to the humourous intentions. (( Probably didn't spell that right ))
by the way, i gotta vent here a second: I cannot write a paper about a view i do not believe in. I get stuck and what i want to write argues with what I should write for the professor. What doesn't help is this paper is being written by two other students as well...whom have ideas much different than mine. Stuck. Suck. Yuck
Yes and no. You could call it Buddhism the religion, or as my professor stressed, it's a philosophy. It's actually both.
I can identify with you completely, I have a teacher that has a different political affiliation than I. However, that doesn't stop them from assigning us with papers that we're supposed to argue against my affiliation with. Now, I suppose this is risky for you to do, but normally I spend the paper explaining why I actually agree with the topic, or in your case, characters.
Good hear some identifying I actually am really saying why the group believes what it does about my paper's topic. Sort of a outside, descriptive paper. So far anyway...First time I have done it without comparison or argument, etc. Flamingo: Nice. I'm taking it to learn about other views, I enjoy hearing about the beliefs of others. And Minny is playing. Go Wild!
No I didn’t hear about it. So China had a swine flu problem? I wonder why it didn’t become a pandemic like it has now.
I took the course because it filled for one of my core classes. I also took it because I really don't have a religion to call my own. I'm a lost soul in that regard I guess. Let's call it shopping. haha It was a store I left without buying much of anything. I miss the sense of belonging, though.
You have no idea how much of a problem I have with this sort of thing. I’ve adopted sort of a libertarian mindset over the years, and it’s nothing but trouble with my professors
Again, yes and no. If you asked China, they had a problem. If you asked the world, no. They had 3 cases. 3. The big deal is when a plane carrying many Mexicans was prohibited from letting the passengers off or into the airport/country. I don't want to guess because my memory of the details is fuzzy but I do remember the Mexican and Chinese governments a little anxious and upset with each other.
Shopping, heh. I have many friends who might nod their head to that description. Buddhism just seemed so empty to me personally.
Thanks for relating heh...ah yes. okay, is there a way to double quote..i hate posting three times in a row
One religion seemed to stand out a little more for me, but I still am undecided whether of not to join. I'm weird this way.
I dont think it's weird at all. Heh, the way you worded that makes it sound like joining a club. No offense intended
Well, I only fit deist or pandeist in the belief in a god through reason. The question of why the universe was created or in what way a god would be interconnected with it I think is unanswerable.
Rei! Didn't realize anyone else was around. Actually, I need to go finish that paper...I cannot dive into much more right now myself.
