Has anyone read the Secret by Rhonda Byrne. Someone said my sad demeanor needs the power of positive thinking, but I am reluctant to actually purchase it, or subject myself to some errant dose of self help.

Don't bother. It's just New Age claptrap. Try The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch instead, if you want something heartwarming.

I read "The Genesis Secret" by Tom Knox.
    I've just started.
The title attracted my attention when I spotted it on a supermarket shelf. In Amazon reviews I found out the writer is a well informed journalist, using information based on thorough research of historical facts. It attracted me even more, so I started reading. So far, after several pages, I like his style.

And, I am finishing a novel by Arnaldur Indriadason, "Arctic Chill". I love the simplicity of his style and yet deep insight into personal relationships and society, but need some time to "digest" to be able to write an opinion about it.

Im just about to start 'World War Z' by Mark Brooks, and i also have 'sense and sensibility and seamonsters' which i look forward to trying - although it really might not be what i hope.

World War Z is actually fairly well done. I sure enjoyed it when I read it and I'm kind of hoping Brooks puts out another of these novels, instead of the graphic novel thing that he's been doing lately.

American Gods, by Neil Gaiman. Just a few pages in, but liking it so far. :)
However, this scene with a hooker actually perplexed me a little...

Just received three chapbooks, so given their brevity, I will probably read those next. They are:

    "Black Country" by Joel Lane
"When the Door was Closed, it was Dark" by Alison Moore
"What Happens When You Wake up in the Night" by Michael Marshall Smith

The Girl Who Played with Fire by Stieg Larsson. Half way through it, and enjoying it more than the first book.

Nations Favourite Poems - I picked it up in Waterstones yesterday along with Dorian Gray. I'm just reading those I've already read, and enjoying those I haven't yet. It's not a big book either, so I should have it read by tonight.

    The Dark Tower series...

Somewhere in the middle of that I'll read The Road, and that's my summer's reading.

I am reading "Fiery Cross" and I'm going to start "Game of Thrones" today or tomorrow. Hope I can get into it, I have a problem getting into fantasy books.

There are so many books i want to read and so little time to read them all :(

For summer reading, I have to read To Kill A Mockingbird (which I read last year, by choice, so it's basically gonna be a review) and The Book Thief. I also had to read Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story, but I just finished:D For the high school I'm going to, we have to write journals about the books, basically how we felt about a certain point, or what we would do if we were that character. Gifted Hands was so hard to write a journal on:( But I did it:)

Woah. I wrote a whole lot there!

Enjoy it, it's great. So is the movie.

I'm reading a collection of poems, The Catcher in the Rye and am really wanting to start House of Leaves.

They did a great job on that movie compared to the book. I really saw The Road coming to life in the movie.

Currently reading "The Thin Executioner" By Darren Shan, it's great! It's a new style of writing from him as he is generally a horror writer but he's delved into the unknown and prodcued something awesome- I'd thoroughly recommend it!
