The writing itself is okay for me - don't mind it, but eh, it's okay. I LOVE the brainstorming, and also get quite a lot of satisfaction in having created a rough draft. When it comes to the actual writing, I like revising the best. Taking an idea and polishing it up. -Frank
My mind wonders. When I write parts of those stories come to life. I express myself, well a part of me. Pain brings the best out of me as far as writing goes. I write anything that comes to mind or gets my attention in life.
I mainly do online writing so I have to admit that my primary motivation for writing is to one day be a full-time writer. Once I'm a full-time writer on the internet, I'd like to eventually write a book. I'm not really expecting the book to be a best seller, but it would be great to have a published book.
I write because I have to. I get an idea, it won't let me rest until I have it down on paper. TBH I don't really like to write all that much, but I feel like I have a responsibility to the characters and cities in my head to bring them to life.
What compels you to write? If I knew that, I'd bottle it and sell it. Why do you write? To create something. Sometimes good, sometimes bad... To make a point or observation, be it about society, injustice, human interaction and behaviour, and/or others I can't think of right now. What makes you write what you write? Personal experiences, current events and good literature (amongst other things) inspire me to put pen to paper. What do you write? Songs. Political and/or dystopian fiction. Humorous short stories, sometimes.
I also write because I have to. My characters keep me awake at night if I don't commit their dialogue to paper. I do love to write, and I want to keep at it until the scenes on the page more accurately reflect the ones in my imagination.
Writing is quite therapeutic. It allows me to transport my emotions and worries onto paper (or Word, Notepad etc.). I find writing to be an effective release mechanism when your mind is filled with thoughts. Thoughts that sometimes feel important enough that you want to tell the world in some sort of narrative.
1. I write just for fun and it became my true hobby. 2. I write because it is almost way for me to improve writing and generally it is fun for me. 3. Not sure about this question. 4. Putting ideas into stories are what made me to write. 5. I write about mainly anything, but mostly fanfictional stories.
Same here, or a particular way of describing a scene, things along that line. If I get an idea, I can't sleep until I write it down either. Yeah, writing can be fun. I just like getting lost in my work, but I get blurry eyed after several hours.
Writing is a way for me to express my critiques and celebrations regarding society. I'm sure that, as my writing matures, I will come to be more interested on the peculiarities in life, the subtle conversations people have, etc. Now, though, I am motivated to write more out of a desire to shed light on an injustice than anything else. Closely related to the first, though I guess I could expand by saying: I'm horrible at everything else! I can't sing, I'm not too good at instruments, I can't paint or draw. So writing allows me to express myself and react/contribute to the world around me. I read so much philosophy that at times I will stare off into the distance, lost in thought over some trivial problem, and not realize that the world is going on around me. Those moments of total relapse lead me to write--if not, my head is going to explode! When I finished my first story, it actually brought a grin to my face. Not only had I been productive and accomplished something, but I was also proud that I had been able to clearly express my ideas...it's kind of like therapy, really. I was able to sort out the webs in my mind. Short stories and philosophical essays.
In the hope it will someday be read and enjoyed, and I will be (positively) remembered after I've passed on.
Why Do you write? "All the stories untold far outweigh those that are told" - I personally feel that there are so many more experiences to explore both for myself and those around me What compels you to write? "See the universe through the eye of a needle" - I also personally feel that if you backtrack so many commonly held beleifs you can branch off into an untold number of parallels that can speculate at answers we all want or non-existent worlds that can teach us so much.
I took up writing because, as it turns out, I'm a terrible pianist. I am now compelled to write because I truly enjoy it, no other reason really. I just enjoy writing. Although, I'd say I was more impelled than compelled...
I write because I like it and I earn money for it. Check it out. http://www.triond.com/rw/309168 this is like blogging only awesome.
What compels you to write? I see things and tell them as they happen. Why do you write? I write because I know I'm young and a decent writer, and my writing will only improve as I gain experience. What makes you write what you write? I wish this world was as interesting as the ideas in my head. What made you decide you liked to write? I can't remember. I literally started making up stories the moment I learned to talk. What do you write? At one point I wrote high fantasy, but now I've gravitated toward the realm of science fantasy and steampunk.
What compells you to write? The need to release tension. Why do you write? Because it's something I'm good at and something I love doing. What makes you write what you write? It could be anything. The most random scenarios come to mind at the most random times. I suppose the world around me is my only influence. I have no other solid explanations. What Made you decide you liked to write? I can't remember. I first started writing at the age of 10 when everyone in my class was required to get a diary. I haven't stopped since. It's the release, I suppose. I am addicted to the rush I get while I write. What Do You Write? Anything and everything. Poetry? Sure. Stories? Sure. Journalistic type articles? Yes, this too! Novels? I'm working on one right now... It's all I know. Writing. It's all I do.
At any point I can feel compelled to write. Whether it be a poem, character for a game or just random nothingness. I guess what it all depends on (in my case) is my mood and what I was doing before I felt the impulse to write. I write for many reasons none of which are without some deeper cause though. I mostly feel the urge to write when I am feeling a strong emotion at that moment. What drives me to write what I do is mostly circumstance and something I cannot truly explain. Which makes it hard for me to finish lengthy projects because once I am not affected by that event anymore I lose my inspiration. I first discovered I like to right in my early teenage years when I used writing as a form of therapy and healthy way to vent my emotions. I have always kept some form of journal handy and still use writing to get me by. I write a wide variety of things, mostly poetry though. I find it soothing and a good way to express my emotions at that moment.
What do you write reply I write simply to entertain people and I believe I was made to write. Writing helps me in many ways because I see it as a form of mental discovery. Writing is what I want to do full time; not for the money, but because it's a joy to write scary stories and hopefully people will enjoy them. Stephen King is my inspiration, by the way.
It's fun and enjoyable to create a new world/universe of my own. I like that I can live through my characters, see them achieve things I can't or would like to do. Express myself
I like to write down my thoughts and then six months later I can look back and see how everything worked out.
Basically the reason I write is as follows. My mother is highly creative but quite serious and sensible. My father is not creative but has a crazy sense of humour. In fact there is a list of about 10 things where they are at opposite ends of the spectrum. My problem is that I am like both of them (eg I am both sensible and crazy), which leads to a huge amount of conflict inside my head. The only way to reconcile these conflicting characteristics I find is to write.
As pretentious as it may sound...because I have to...without craving validation by professional publishers...
I write because I'll go nuts keeping all these thoughts in my head. LOL, but really I write to share. I'm a bit of an information junkie and I myself prefer hard copy so I do my best to provide what it is I want to share through writing.
What compells you to write? Emotions. Why do you write? To entertain my family initially. To breathe life into potential that would otherwise not be lived in my lifeor the lives of others. To develop creativity and expression and avoid the wasted hours of navel gazing that somehow transpire a lonely existence. To communicate xx What makes you write what you write? The desire to make a connection, the desire for a reaction in others. What Made you decide you liked to write?Initially the reactions of others, then the feeling of connection I attained within myself and with others, I grew as a person. Writing enriches my life. What Do You Write? Fiction, My own experiences and childrens stories, all short stories
