They are, most probably, not gone.

The only thing that cou've permanently deleted your stories would be filling the empty space they were occupying.

Deleting files in a computer doesn't really erase them, it just tells the OS to ignore their existence.

Stop touching that HD, find a computer savy friend that can work on site (I could try to help you online but it'd be a harder) and recover your files.

Oh, Link, I've been there before! It's the worst feeling. I lost about three chapters once, and I was shattered. But I didn't take a break, I started again, and actually made some alterations I was happy with. If you try again with the writing still fresh in your mind, you might recover a lot of it. ;)

I haven't been flossing my teeth as I should have been. I brush twice a day and use mouthwash, but to no avail. I went to the dentist today and felt so guilty upon leaving. Found out I have 3 cavities not able to be seen but with x-ray, and I have a touch of moderate gingivitus.

Make sure to floss people, otherwise you'll have a checkup that's almost as pain-filled as an orthodontics visit.

Ugh, these were the first cavities I ever had, too.

^Urg, I hate flossing. And dentists.

I've been pretty horrifically depressed for the past few...uh...the past while. And foolishly today, I did something that I effing knew was going to make it worse. So now....yeah. :/ I feel bad for Joel, having to put up with this sh*t.

Okay, this has been boiling over for a long time, so I'm just going to say it.

**** you guys. You are the assholes people talk about behind your backs. You're the ones people look at with disgust. You're the ones everyone smiles at but no one really cares for your well-being.

You're pathetic. All of you. Do you really have anything better to do than to insult me? Is that all you do in your spare time. You know no one's on your side, so why do you keep doing it? It's sad, and pathetic.

Go ahead and hate me. In the end, it doesn't even matter, as the song goes. Come on. Laugh at the Linkin Park reference. Call me emo one more time. See what good that does you.

And you know what the sad part is? I couldn't give two ****s what you think about me. I honestly don't. Because it's not true. None of it is true. I'm not fat, I'm not emo, I'm not ugly. Those are insults twelve-year-olds call each other on MySpace because they defriended someone.

Wow. I'm amazed I could put up with you guys for so long. You'll get what's coming to you. /Aladdin reference. You know who I feel bad for? The people that forced to listen to your ****. They don't like you. You know why? Because all you do is bitch and moan about this and that. A person can only take so much negativity.

And here's the thing. Getting into arguments with someone when you know you're wrong makes you look like a dumbass! And you know it makes you look like a dumbass. Why don't you just admit you're wrong and get over yourself?

If I could describe you people in one word. It's this: Pathetic.

    I'm studying to be a dentist. Don't hate. :p

I hope all gets better for you, though. If you ever need to vent, I'm a good listener. (This goes for anyone here.) :)

    Um.

    Hi.

    My name is Emily.

And... I don't know if this is directed at me. But... I've never seen you before in my life. Are you actually talking about people from this website or are you just ranting? I really can't tell. That's not me trying to sound snobbish, I promise. It's an honest question.

    Wanna be friends?

*I'm assuming you're directing it at us*

I have never met you before, my good friend. Rest assured that the Mods of this forum make absolutely sure that people are treated with respect and curtesy. If they find someone being rude, crass, racist, etc to someone else, they punish them. Harshly.

Had someone here mistreated you? Let the Mods know and they will deal with it. I promise you.

Link, my dear old thing, I'm certain that Bob is not directing that at anyone hereabouts but rather at scumbags and morons in her real life.

Bullying is vile. Have folk seen the footage of the Australian lad being tormented and snapping - fighting back for perhaps the first time in his life? There's something profoundly moving about it...it's that first punch he takes and you wonder how many other times he's been punched and not retaliated in his young life.

BobLobLaw: I assume you're directing it at certain people you've come across in real life? Sorry you had/are having to put up with all this. Some people are complete idiots. I hope these people leave you alone, and that people treat you better. :)

To my boyfriend: Thank you for volunteering to watch OUR son after he's already asleep anyway. No really, that helps. Because I couldn't have used your help the first 10 hours of the day while you were sitting on your ass in front of your computer. And thank you for calling me bossy because I ASKED you if you would watch him--God forbid--earlier today so I could take a moment and relax. You didn't do it anyway, so I don't why I bothered. But you did watch him for thirty minutes last night, if watching him means throwing the kid in his baby swing and leaving him be while you play Nintendo. If it was just one day, I could deal. But this is everyday. If I were smart, I'd leave you, because you're heading nowhere. No job, no education, nothing. But we have a son and we used to have a relationship, so I stay anyway.

I am so happy in every other aspect of my life for the first time. I just wish I could fix this.

Baywriter: I'm so sad to hear that, but i wounder if in the long run you are doing you son a disfavor letting him grow up with a father setting an example that it not important to respect women.

Baywriter, I'm happy that you're happy in every other aspect in your life. Sounds like your boyfriend has been given a painful and itchy infection called acedia, which really sucks. I would continue applying regular antibiotic ointment to the infected area and encourage a healthy diet, but if the symptoms still occur, it's probably best to let him go in peace.

Sometimes, zombies just need to be quarantined.

Mauricio "Shogun" Rua just lost his title and suffered his first ever TKO loss in the same night.

    Depression much.

Shogun was just breaking into Pride when I started following MMA. At the time it seemed he would be unstoppable for as long as he wanted and now he's displaced by the new big thing at 205. He's lost before but never this badly. Between him and CroCop tonight was miserable. Just reminds me that my personal favourite GSP, who was also still a prospect when I started watching, for all his dominance is one day closer to coming across the man who will dethrone him at 170. It's a merciless sport but I guess that's part of what makes it so great.

True that. It was a bad night for the Pride superstars.

But Shogun will be back. As for Cro Cop, I'm a huge fan but he needs to finally hang them up. He and Fedor both just no longer have what it takes to compete with today's breed of Heavyweight fighters. Big Nog should probably start seriously consider retirement as well.

I need to write a short story and edit another short story for tomorrow, but I'm not in the mood at all and I can't seem to get past a couple of lines. I really need to do this work because I have three creative portfolios due in three weeks and obviously my work will need workshopping, and I'm panicking. Plus, I have an essay due in three weeks (yeah, four deadlines all in the same week, lucky me) and I still have no idea what plays I'm comparing. Gah. :/

^ I know how you feel. I have thousands and thousands of words of coursework, due soon, and I've barely started. I am totally lacking motivation.

My writing teacher has suggested I submit this one poetry magazine soon and this is exactly how I feel about that. I don't have the confidence in my skills (or lack thereof) to even think about publishing.

Yeah, my motivation has been put down because I recently got an assessment back and it wasn't as good as I hoped.
