 awwww shucks! Thanks darlen! I ended up making 25 of them. Still have another cake to make tomorrow for him to have at home, not sure what to make though. Mabye a tooth, seeing as though he lost his first tooth today, one day before his 7th birthday, and boy was he excited about that.
OK. Chapter 3 of the diss is finished. The title page is prepared. The contents page is also finalised. I have my final chapter titles sorted (hey, 3 weeks to hand in and, after a year, I have them ready to roll - nothing like preparation). Once I have the introduction written, I know what I'm ready to roll. One 3,500 word chapter this week, then a 4,000 one the week after. Write conclusion. Write redrafts over 3 days. Sorted.
It is an absolutely GORGEOUS spring day outside, and it smells like spring, which is the best. And it's so warm and happy outside, this is my kind of day!
The internet is going fast enough that I can actuallly use it! Maybe later I'll download some freelance writing resources I've been meaning to take a look at. Also I can chat with my friends! (Won't hold out too much hope for skype though.)
I finally got a title and chapter number out of my head last night. It's not quite spring here, grey and snowing and its freaking April. I want the sun, the snow flakes were so big that when I went out side they about gave me a black eye. Aww well I still love the weather, my son and everything eles going right in my life.
At last! I've done some writing! Well, some planning anyway. A 1,000 word plan, in proper prose, rather than a table or bullet points. But the point is that I'm writing again! Can't wait until I sit down tomorrow evening in front of this computer so I can get to work on this story properly.
Took the cakes into my sons class today and when his teacher found out I'd made them myself, she started talking about me making one for her daughters 4th birthday.I think it'd be very cool if I could make cakes for people like that. Have to practice loads though. Still, it's nice to have someone say your work is that good that they want you to make them for their children. I got a bit of a ego boost lol ;-)
Two assessments submitted. Only another two due this week, one of which I haven't started... Oh well, I'm slowly getting there, and I'll get rewarded by being able to go home on Friday.
That is awesome Just be careful, before you know it you'll be making so many it'll feel like a job... LOL. I have to make a cake and specialty cupcakes for 50+ people on the 30th, plus do the cake for my sons birthday, plus the cupcakes for his school and I started out just that way. It gets exhausting even when you love it
Well, I can say that I'm happy to go home and work more on my story. Also, I'm also glad to finally go to a college meeting (UB) that I've been missing for quite a while. Even though today is a rainy one (which rainy days are usually bad for me) I find it being a great day. I don't have much to complain about.
I drove myself and my little sister to the library -- it was my first drive after getting my license and it felt AMAZING.
Congrats on getting your license twin!!! It's april (my favorite month), it's getting warmer, I get to sleep in tomorrow, and it's an absolutely gorgeous sunny, spring day right now. Seriously, what's not to be happy about?
It was mid 70's here. It was so nice out when I got home from work, I changed into jeans and a tee, and went straight out to the yard. I found a patch of lawn with more grass than dirt and a lot of sun, and stretched out on my back. The sun on my face, the feel of the warm ground, and the fragrance of the fresh grass - It was a slice of heaven. Until the EMT van and the fire chief's car pulled up with lights and sirens, Someone saw me lying there and punched 911. Oh the humility...
Contrary to my post in the Not Happy Thread, birthdays should be celebrated! I'm 20! I just opened presents from my boyfriend and they're so cuuuuuute! I'm 20, I'm alive, and tomorrow I will have presents and too much food. Life is good.
Wow, nothing like an intensely heated debate in biology class to get your adrenaline flowing. I love debates, because I'm such an opinionated person and it gives me a chance to give voice to my ideas, as well as see the counterpoint and try to see things fairly. We were presenting and discussing our projects in biology on controversial bioethical issues, such as fetus rights, stem cell research, cloning, population control, etc., and the last presentation was on fetus rights. I'm strongly pro-choice, but I try to respect pro-life opinions and see the counterpoint in the argument, but this presentation was so biased when it was supposed to be presenting both sides equally and it was so full of rhetoric that I had to say something, and the class just erupted into heated discussion over the topic. I'm happy that I remained respectful and tried to see the side of other opinions, but I'm also proud that I tried to fairly point out the fallacies and flaws in their presentation and didn't explode in angry arguments over a heated issue.
