I'm reading a book called Warrior. It's by far the worst book I've ever read (no offense to the author or anything...heh). On the bright side, I can't stop reading it because I can't imagine it gets worse, and so far it has exceeded my expectations in that sense!
Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri. Finished the first short story A Temporary Matter and I am already a fan.
Nearing the end of the brilliant Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. It's pretty great. The clean, and cordial romance is so refreshing comparing to all the tacky sex-oriented books now-a-days...
im about two thirds of the way through "writing fiction for dummies" by Randy Ingermanson and Peter Economy to be honest I'm finding it tedious, repetitive and boring but I'm pushing through in the hope of picking something up that i don't already know. sorry if your on here randy or peter.
At this moment I am reading Side by Side Shakespeare. A modern day translation of Macbeth....It rocks.
My copy of The Pale King came yesterday. Today, in spite of the glorious weather, I'm reading it.. and it is superb.
Been reading Alan Heathcock's debut collection of short stories. It's a nice balance of amazing story telling, as well as being finely crafted (intentionally in a way that isn't self-conscious or more worried about style over story as some 'literary' fiction can tend to be). It's the kind of thing where you read a story and then just have to sit there thinking about the world for a while. Is good stuff, if you're into that sort of thing.
After I finish Fear & Loathing, I'm going to read Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy -- just from flipping through the first few pages at a glance, I think I'm going to like it better than War & Peace (which I did like).
The Sworn, by Gail Martin, its not too bad, but you have to read The Chronicles of the Necromancer to fully understand it...
Picked up A Game of Thrones the other day. For some reason I feel like I'm a little late to the party with this purchase though.
Along with Anna Karenina, I'm also reading The Accidental Billionaires and Game Change. I have an addiction to reading....
Just finished Where She Went by Gayle Forman, the sequel to the beautiful and tragic If I stay. Where She Went was just as good, but with happier ending
Sorry for the double post Well that's definately not a bad addication to have not to mention I have that addication too so theres more proof of our twinness
I've been on a bit of a Pratchett binge the last few weeks. Discworld books I haven't read since I was a little younger. I'd forgotten how much I love them. Currently on Jingo. Recently read Feet of Clay Men at Arms Guards! Guards! Mort FaustEric The Light Fantastic After Jingo I'll be reading the Fifth Elephant then moving on to a few different things that are on my "to-read" pile. The Angel's Game by Carlos Ruiz Zaphon for one and Catch 22 to name a couple.
The Complete Poems of John Keats. I'm nearing the end - he was pretty good, ol' John Keats, but I hated Endymion.
Almost finished with The Accidental Billionaires, so I'll be moving on to Game Change by tonight or tomorrow morning at the latest.
Currently reading The Shadow of the Wind, and I'm completely mesmerized. Translation or not, the writing's beautiful. Tell me what you think of The Angel's Game once you're finished.
I've been reading Coin Locker Babies by Ryu Murakami since, uhh, September. The main character's childhood was a little dull to read through post the first chapter but it picked up after that. It's not the best novel (reason why I keep putting it aside to read other novels), possibly one of my least favourites of Murakami's books, but I love the characters: Kiku and Hashi. I only recently started reading it again now I've more free time.
