You look wonderful there Ash, great pictures! Here is my latest new toy. Possibly the coolest thing I've gotten in the last year (including all the wedding presents): It's a Gillette Tech Ball End safety razor. It was my grandfather's razor, and is between 60-65 years old. It has sooo much family history, yet no one in my family understands why I would want to shave with it. I think that upping my shave time from ~5 mins to 20+ mins every morning is totally worth such a solid connection to my past. Plus DE shaving is sexxy and waaay cooler than cartridge shaving.
^^ Grand stuff. The only thing I have of my grandfather's is his razor...A Wilkinson Sword of about the same vintage..very similar in design. (Daren't use it though. Very sensitive skin, darling. They don't make men like what they used to, it seems)
That is insanely cool, Kyle. I would be terrified to use one, though! Man, I don't think my grandfather has a cool razor like that...lame.
Was bored and decided to create a little thing for the Western I'm mulling over in my head: EDIT: Just in case it wasn't clear: The American outlaw who's the former Johnny Reb in search of an identity is the guy on the left with the hat. The Irish farmboy in search of a home is the lad with the missing leg.
Ashleigh, that dress really suits you. Kyle, from the first picture I thought it was a candle stand or something... But wow, that's pretty cool! Link, aha I like how you've drawn your people.
Safety razors are actually easier on sensitive skin than modern cartridge razors. The best thing you can do is switch to a lather brush and good wool-fat soap. Canned cream is garbage.
My grandfather I think has a razor like that still. hopefully he'll never actually use it. he can get shaky sometimes..
A watercolor painting for my mother of the slightly purple spring birch twigs. It showing the half an hour you can call spring in Norrbotnia, between the winter-spring and the early summer.
w176, your art is always beautiful. I think the watercolours work really well. I used to always make it too watery when I painted years ago.
Pretty pic, Baywriter. By the way, a couple of days ago I listened to that song you posted in your blog, and I think you have an amazing voice. Just sayin' before I forget! As for me: I made a necklace today (for my sisters birthday) and I'm pretty proud of it.
That necklace is really pretty, Soul Sister! Also, I'm not sure how I never commented on your picture, Bay, but you're friggin gorgeous. And I love your hair.
Photo from dinner at the curry house with a group of Australian authors from the convention. Wonderful group of people.
I took a break and bottled my wine. Vintage 2010, Pear. And the full 2010 lineup, Pear and Pineapple (respectively):
