It's going to be pink. I'm pretty sure we have the dress picked out already, I just need to try it on and make sure it looks good on me.

Well, I did follow Friendship is Magic when it was uploaded to YT. The season finale was broadcast the Friday before the last, though. But other than that, I haven't watched television in months.

 

Rahm Emanuel was inaugurated as Chicago's mayor today!

 

The good news for me is that my thread has survived Cogito's doom hammer. Given my controversial nature it's a miracle.

 

I had a good first day at the lab. My supervisor is really great, and I think we'll get along really well. She's receptive to my questions (some people get way annoyed with me, since I ask so many) and is really easy going... We laughed for like 10 minutes about this silly task involved in one of the things I'll be doing.

In a few days I get to start sitting in on surgery too. I spent about 4.5 hours there today training; it went by really fast! I can get used to it.

 

I HAVE A JOB INTERVIEW THIS WEDNESDAY!!!!

This is so awesome. I've been applying places and I haven't gotten a call back until today, I'm so excited!

 

Congrats, Gi! When I got an email back from this prof I'm working with now, I was so excited I literally started dancing around, singing to my roommate, calling my best friend and my parents... I had been accepted at that point, but oh my gosh it feels so good to know that someone thinks you're capable, yeah?

 

Oh gosh, definitely! I love that feeling, it feels so.... like what I'm feeling now, actually!

 

Today, I once again went to Whole Foods where the cute cashier is always working when I shop. His checkout aisle was closed and he opened it right after I went to someone else's. When I got to my car, I realized I had forgotten something, so I went back in, and went to his aisle to check out. He remembered me this week!

This leads me to axiom of cashier flirting #2: If you think hard enough, you will always realize that you forgot to buy something.

That's so true! I used to do that.

I'm happy because at practice tonight one of the vets worked with me on my power slides*, and I actually did it! First time I've been able to do them.

*For those not derby/skating literate, a power slide is where you transition from skating forward to skating backward, then stop on your toe stops

 

Just finished my first draft! Yay, yay, yay!!! So happy!

 

The bone in my foot has completely healed so I don't have to go back for any more x-rays =D

I'm probably going to hang out with my friend on Thursday, so that should be fun.

 

Three essays done and handed in. Now just the beast of a dissertation to finally slay *sharpens sword*

I get to opt out of all my year-end exams except one! I'm so happy -- I only have to take one exam instead of 6.
