I'm sure you'll do amazing! Good luck! My friends pranked me yesterday. They brought a stove -- A STOVE. A KITCHEN STOVE -- to my yard and just let it sit there. It was sitting in someone's yard with a 'free' sign on it and they took it. I don't think I've ever laughed that hard.
I was reading my local newspaper and looking at the lost and found section. In the lost section there was a picture of a dearly missed cat that had been gone for two months. Then in the found section, someone from the other side of town posted a picture of a cat they had found in their backyard. And it was the same cat! That the adorable little kitty is guaranteed to come home made me so happy
It's a shameless name-drop but I'm happy because today I got to work with the legend that is Brian Blessed. And I have to say that he is a most wonderful and remarkable human being
Thanks Tess! Today I worked on writing my synopsis for my YA fantasy, which is helping me plan before I start writing, so I can write plot-hole free (the 15 pages were from my other work in progress). Last night I wrote about 1,000 words (which for a novel might be one scene, but is a good bit of information for a synopsis). I figured out a huge transition gap, a key aspect of the plot, several foreshadowing tools, and developed a character. It was around 3 a.m. but I stayed up and cranked through it anyway. So proud. Spklvr, I'm so glad to hear that the cat will be reunited with its people. I love cats so much.
You mean Taylee. See? Even on the internet people confuse us! lollollol, Mal. And congrats on your book progress!
Had a really amazing day with my friends Lauren, Erin and James. We all chilled at James' house and all ended up falling asleep on his bed (which is ridiculously comfy).
I just passed 80k on my second (more concise) draft. I am absolutely buzzing. I'm right in the thick of the ending action when everything is being revealed. It's such a blast to write! If I thought I loved this part in the first draft, it's even more amazing now! Also, this means I will finish in two or three days (probably). Hehehehe, I'm so flipping happy!
I've not been on here much at all because life is simply too busy, but I had to pop in during my spare few minutes and post up some really wonderful news. My best friend of 23 years, and an ex forum member of here, has just found out she is pregnant with triplets. She is due in January, so only 2 months into her pregnancy, but it truly is the most wonderful news. Best part is that she has taken it really well and happy about it, when I know others who have not take it so well. I'm just so very proud of her, I really am.
Awww, congratulations to your friend! Triplets, damn...that's going to be pretty intense. But three babies is triple the cute!!
I've been allocated London 2012 tickets! I don't know which yet, but I have tickets for something I applied for.
London 2012? Sounds interesting. At any rate, I got my laptop back from the repair shop! I can play Morrowind and Oblivion on it again! Ah, Morrowind, how I missed you. It's the Zelda: Ocarina of Time of the Elder Scrolls series.
I've just gotten back from my local library! I joined years ago, when I first moved to the local area, but being at university the past few years I haven't used it. And since I couldn't find my library card, I thought I'd go and see about getting myself a replacement. So I get down there, and they ask my name, whereupon they exclaim that they've been hoping I would pop in. It turns out that the Henley Standard (one of my local papers) published one of the comments I left on their site, speaking out against the council's plans to privatise the libraries, as a letter. So I'm famous! That and the fact that I went to a great author event last night, with two crime authors. I'm starting to feel more and more at home here. Now all I need is the Labour nomination for the upcoming by-election, and I'll be sorted...
