They do taste good burnt. Mmmm. Joel told me he was going to come home for lunch, so I waited to eat...and now I'm starving, and he still isn't here. Boo. I'm eating without him.
I prefer to set mine on fire, let them burn for maybe 10-15 seconds then blow them out. Perfect. Yum. Had some last night, having more tonight, YAY!
LOL, I think I learned to like them that way because I'm so impatient Almost-instant gratification! What's not to like?
It makes them all gooey and yummy on the inside and a little crisp and crunchy on the outside. Best way to eat them!
*walks back in* I just got back from a boating trip and ate some beans 'n' stuff. :} Never had the stuff you're talking about, though.
I know. Hmmm...I may have missed the golden opportunity. Remember how I always did the whole *Europe gasps in horror* thing whenever I said I didn't like fat food and stuff? Well... I never had s'mores. *America gasps in horror* A'yup. It was time I did that joke to my own country. X) Sorry everyone. I...just never had 'em. I might like 'em, though. That's always a good thing.
You might like them? What's not to like? Graham cracker, chocolate, and gooey marshmallow. It's sticky and messy and warm and gooey and OMG.... might? Might? Horror. Horror I say!
I can't believe you guys have never had s'mores. Seriously, I think that might be worse than me never having seen Star Wars.
Well I'm not even first generation in the US, so there are a lot of things I haven't tried, but I have seen Star Wars...(uhhh do the prequels count?)
I think whether the prequels count depends on who you're asking. I can't weigh in on that, though. However, I can weigh in on the s'more issue...and I think it should have been the very first thing you tried when you got here.
Well I have seen the first Star Wars, it was ok. I think the first thing I tried was pizza... someone send me a smore, overnight it so it'll still be warm; post haste!
Okay well it won't be as good as traditional roasting over a fire, but you'll get the general idea if you microwave a marshmallow for maybe 10 seconds, slap it on a graham cracker with a piece of a chocolate bar, put another cracker on top, smush, and eat Not perfect, but close, and works in a pinch when you're watching tv late at night, crave one and there's no fire to be had
Forgive my cultural ignorance... but smores? (No, I'm not reading the last few pages). You can tell I'm settling in to write a novel. I've gone out and got a big bag of sweets to sit on the desk as a reward for hitting targets (do 500 words, have a sweet, etc), the kettle's on, the template's ready, notes are filed and I'm on the internet not writing fiction. In my defence, I slept for only 3 1/2 hours last night, so writing probably isn't the best idea. I'd only have to go back and rewrite in a couple of days.
I read the last few pages and that's what I've gathered it is from Trish. I quite like the sound of them except I don't know what kind of a cracker a Graham cracker is. See, when I give myself a reward I end up doing a little bit and then just end up eating all of my sweets/rewards and not really doing much work instead. I try and refrain from giving myself rewards now because they don't work. I need to go out but I don't want to face the hot weather. Sigh. Maybe I'll go out tomorrow instead.
Up and out, I say! Nothing ventured, nothing gained! (In my case, today's wanderings have gained me knowledge of a friend's work, jobseeker's allowance, knowledge that the lass I saw down at the library and wanted to ask out has apparently vanished in a puff of smoke and a loaf of bread). And my normal reward is a cup of tea. "I have to do another 500 words before I have a cuppa" is a powerful motivator.
Yes, but I have to go out for very boring reasons (to post a letter and get some yoghurt) so I don't think there'll be much gained. But yeah, I'll go later. As for your wanderings (you've already been out at this time? I'm still in my pyjamas), it's a shame the library girl has vanished. Uhh, okay...
