Aw, thanks. When I was a kid animals were all I ever wrote about. I've moved on to more grown-up stuff now... like curses and magic and dead people and witches... LOL.
I am 16 at the moment. My ideal job would be to work at Disney Animation Studios as a Cartoonist Animator. If not that, then I would want to be a voice actor for cartoons and tv. If not that, then a musician. Also, on the side I would want to be a novelist(duh), be a cartoonist for my own web comic, and also be a children's book writer and illustrator. Oh! Another thing on the side would be to be a comic book artist for comics like Superman, Batman, or The Flash. Yea...I'm pretty specific when it comes to this type of stuff ha ha!
I'm almost 20. I think my ideal job would probably be a novelist. I've also always wanted to work at an indie bookstore for some crazy reason.
Hey all, I'm 19 and I would love to be a full time writer. Or a professional fighter in MMA, Kickboxing or Boxing as I love all 3. Highly unlikely though. A nice realistic job would be something with nature and preserving the environment.
22 years old and I am a photographic retoucher. A realistic job I dream about is being a successful visual artist and multimedia artist combining writing with cinematography/filmmaking, photography and sculpture. Either that or screenwriter
Wow...I've been here for a while and haven't ever noticed this thread. Well, better late than never. I'm 17 - turning 18 in May. My ideal job would have to be either a writer (whether it be as a novelist or otherwise) or a professional musician (I play guitar, bass, and piano). Realistically, I'm going to be studying to become an English teacher.
. Ooo ... that's the fun part, isn't it? I love researching and learning, and often find what I learn influences my writing in different ways. You know, I just thought of this, but what if I'm already doing my dream job and never realized it? Sure, I can't write when I want to all the time right now, but when I have the opportunity to spend hours at it I find have no deadlines, no critical naysayers, no worries about publishing, book tours, or webpage upkeep. Of course, the perks with being published are missing (those things that lead to becoming a full-time author, often gained through meeting deadlines and critical reviews). I had never thought of it that way. . Anyone else here already doing their dream job?
. That's so cool. There are a lot of things out there you could be, and in all them you can still be a writer.
I'm 18, soon to be 19 in May. To be completely honest, I'm not sure what my ideal job would be. It's a hard thing to decide.
I'm in my thirties, scientist. Its not my ideal job, I don't know what would be, maybe something that will allow me to live in 4 different climates a year. I like to write on the side for fun.
I'm 20. I currently own a crafting business. I make things with duct tape...I know it sounds kiddish but you can check out my facebook page if you would like. www.facebook.com/raindrop0wallets. I would also love to get one or more of my books published.
I'm 24, and I'm a receptionist. I'd much rather be a professor of English and, with any luck and a crap ton of money, I can get back to school to get my Masters degree.
Lot of youngsters here, I'm 63. I've had several perfect jobs and just enjoying being retired for the last ten years.
I'm 17, turning 18 this year. My dream job is to be a filmmaker. It doesn't matter the position, although I'd preferably be a director. I'm more likely to become a lawyer/businessman though, since that is the easiest route for me.
Early thirties, and I work in recruitment for a healthcare organisation. It's quite boring and I'd much rather be a novelist, make a shed load of cash and then go back to uni to get a PhD in Classics
I'm 17, turning 18 this year. My ideal job/dream would be NASA, flying an actual spaceshuttle. However...that's a very serious wish. Currently onto psychology, probably would teach it, but I'd rather be a counseling psychologist. Anyway, life is full of opportunities. I'd rather be everything I can
I'm 21, and I have a rather unfortunate selection of interests. By that, I mean I only have one thing that I'd actually like to do for years at a time. That one thing is telling stories. I have other interests, of course, but nothing I'd gladly devote my life to. I enjoy video games, but despise programming. I like to play guitar, but lack the drive to master its use. The thought of working with nature in some capacity is appealing to me, but only for a week or two at a time before I realize I'm just not quite outdoorsy enough (not to mention I burn far too easily). The one and only interest I have capable of bringing in money that I can see myself doing in the coming decades is storytelling. I'll take writing novels, making movies, contributing to the story of a video game, or anything along those lines, but if I can live by being a novelist, that is my first choice. As it is the only option on the list that will give me absolute control over every aspect of the story. My family doesn't think much of this plan... and I tend to agree. It's sobering in how unlikely it is to work out well for me. But I would not be satisfied setting storytelling to the side so I can focus on some other thing I'm only mildly interested in. Tough break for me, I guess.
I'll be turning 26 in a few weeks, and my ideal job is to be a novelist! When I was younger, I wanted to become a basketball player, but that's changed.
I am 19, and currently trying to get a college degree to teach high school Social Studies. Good pay. Great benefits. Three months off per year to write. Not to mention, I'd get to actually teach people about the way society works and all the great (and not so great) things mankind's accomplished over the years. Teaching people. . .just seems like a great thing to do. I hate it when people get their facts wrong, I love learning new things and spreading knowledge around. Our knowledge is what makes us human. I would never want to write for a living; I would never want writing to become something I had to do. It seems to me like that would destroy the freedom and creativity of the art.
I am 49. My ideal job changes with my mood. I love music so much I completed the requirements for a music major twice as an undergrad. Sometimes I would like to try acting though I have 0 experience. Photographer... hmm all these are artsy fartsy things even writing.
41, Beach bar, Capbreton. Louche, immoral and surfing. With one 8 line poem published, translated into 56 languages. Waxing lyrical under my straw hat. 'You see messieurs I ave encapsulated the uman condicion, eez complexities and all eez ansers in 26 words. You my friend...how do we say en ingish, your cirlique scralls are but wallpapa.' Oh, and helping the poorer.
24 and the ideal job is one where I get to help the disadvantaged, poor, those who just need help. Was going for psychology but found out that A) Social work degree is cheaper and B) they can do therapy as well.
I'm 16. My dream job would be to be a country pop singer. However realistically, I doubt that will happen. I'm a junior in high school, but as of right now I want to double major in accounting and math, and double minor in business and sports management.
