Name: Kitza Age: approximately 10 yrs old, created not born Gender: unknown Appearance: Kitza is a mutant-looking thing. It stands on three legs, one facing forward and two more facing back, all of them 120 degrees apart. Each leg has a foot, which is comprised of four, claw ended toes that are 90 degrees apart. Kitza's body is about three feet long, and only about three feet tall. It has two arms, each of which has three short fingers. Kitza oozes a translucent greenish slime constantly. Kitza's head has a long snout, with different sized teeth throughout. Personality: Kitza's personality is strictly helpful. Kitza doesn't know anything but running and helping. Kitza simply travels the world, observing things. It knows where almost everything is in the world. Kitza doesn't have much of a personality of its own. The only thing it knows: Magnalian tried to kill it. History: Kitza was created by Magnalian, the Summoner, to be a servant. There were more of Kitza's race, but Magnalian soon found he'd made a bunch of worthless creations, and had all of them destroyed by his other pets. However, Kitza escaped. Since then, Kitza simply wanders the world, helping others find places they need to find. Powers/Equipment: Kitza has only one power, so far. It can hear people's thoughts, if they are of strong emotion (anger, curiosity, sadness, etc). It can also remember every place it has ever been too, and know how to get there. Kitza's has no equipment.
Hey all. I'd prefer to jump back into the coliseum after you all have made a post or two. But if you'd prefer to have a host of bugs as a distraction to escape your bindings and grab your weapons let me know, and I will jump back into the scene first. Also an important note, if you remember Pyree teleporting and disintigrating a beetle, the same thing will be happening to any bugs that occupy the same space as a monster. With denser monsters and objects like golems the matter displacement may even cause an explosion of heat energy. I am aware that this is a little excessive in terms of game controlling powers, but I plan to make an equivalent sacrifice as an exchange for the large display of power. Morvane and I have had the last 3 posts, so I'm more than happy to wait for anyone else that wants to get in a post before my next move. PM, post here, or just go ahead and write your next bit, but don't make Morvane and me wait too long. I've been dying to use some of the hand to hand combat Faramar taught Pyree. *By the way, anyone else think its funny that every character Pyree has encountered has given her a weapon of some kind? Except for Jesswrite, she stole a weapon. Reminds me of WOW where all the girl gamers get free equipment and stuff. Hahaha*
@naturemage: Wow, Kitza is one strange thing of a creature. Sounds like one of my terrible Spore creations. [/referencethatnoonegets] @GaleSkies: Was the disintegrating beetle thing due to the teleportation itself? Or was it because Pyree happened to teleport into the beetle's space (blowing it up since two masses can't occupy the same space)? If it's the second one, what's stopping Pyree from displacing air, or accidentally displacing someone else? Just curiosity speaking here. And yeah, that is a little bit funny. For Atlas it was more that Pyree was unarmed rather than that she was a girl, while in WOW, it's probably the other way around.
Pyree teleported into the beetle's space. The beetle didn't blow up but radiated heat into Pyree's leg. Human's are 70% liquid, and a beetle that size can't be too far off from human anatomy. I was using the density of the matter involved as an explanation. In Pyree's world its illegal to teleport near large bodies of gravity (planets) and it's used primarily for space transit. So she is in a bit of unexplored territory herself. Gases, being the sparsest form of matter, don't displace a noticeable amount of energy and I'm imagining an exponential curve of matter density and heat output. What keeps Pyree from displacing someone else are two things that I haven't gotten around to explaining yet, the first being bodily harm. A golem or inanimate object would be disintegrated, but the resulting heat could easily kill Pyree herself. Second, Pyree is a psychically trained space pilot. Her training involves heightened spatial awareness but only in regards to the space time threads she uses. This allows her to roughly feel the end point of her teleportation to some extent and avoid unfortunate accidents.
Within a twenty meter radius will be filled with a swarm of bugs. The rock golem Pyree encountered will explode, but survive because of its dubious anatomy. Pyree will also suffer irreparable damage, but it will be fun and for the better. Additional effects will be left up to other players, whether a beetle jumps out and bites something, or explode upon teleporting into a nearby stone column. I'll be describing the explosions as small localized pops. For example one leg could explode but the blast radius would not be large enough to affect the other leg. So, very small compared to other players fireballs and psychic blasts capable of toppling behemoths. I hope to be very clear in my description, the beetle explodes from the extra heat energy provided by a golem's leg. ie: beetle juices flying everywhere. *pun intended* Really, the move isn't a power play, but an escalation of conflict. I'm hoping for Players V.S. Monsters and hype up a climax into players v.s. monsters v.s. beetle (that attack indiscriminately) If the timing doesn't work out, Pyree and Morvane could lead the beetles in by foot, but that seems too boring.
I was only being courteous by letting everyone know my next move. If a wrench gets thrown in a plan then the writer just has to stretch their imagination a little more. Regardless I'm glad you and naturemage posted. I'm ready for a new chapter and orb holder.
Just a thought...what happens when the Orb is acquired by someone? Is everyone sent back to their home world to find another portal or do they just move on from where they left off? And as for the person who acquires it...are there specific powers the orb can do or is it up to the owner?
When the Orb changes hands you will all remain in the same world you are currently in. The portals coming into that world will redirect to the new world where the Orb now resides. In the world where the Orb just left, a new portal will open in the place where the Orb first appeared. In our case it will show up somewhere near were Magnalian's laboratory used to be. I'm stalling the game just a little for Cheddar Cheese and Rustic. But I'm going to try to get something happening up by noon tomorrow
Alright, so I'm not the only one that caught that. On a completely unrelated note, I think I'll start to throw in my lot, not so much to catch up, but I need to keep... up-to-date, I'd say.
10 points to GaleSkies! But if you simply read Ogini Ayotanom backwards there would be no doubt. I've been waiting for like a week to pull that line out! Don't forget that everyone in the ring has been more or less freed from their ropes by Magnalian. I'm going to take this moment to announce the nominatons for 'Holder of the Orb': CheddarCheese (Atlas) The Magnan (BladeEdge/Magnafire) GaleSkies (Pyree) Congrats to you guys! and well done by everyone who has played this has been my best game so far. Voting will begin as soon as each of their characters get to the arena. I'm currently discussing with Cheddar how to hurry Atlas in that direction w/o Rustic. One question to you all though, I cannot restrict voting to just those of us in the game, and I'm not sure if we should. What do you all think? Open voting to include any lurkers who have been reading the game, or closed voting to just us players? Closed voting would either have to be by not-so-secret ballot PMed to me, or by turning on the poll feature where voters names are posted next to their votes.
I would think PM. It's not like you're going to be telling everyone who voted for them, or who didn't.
So much has been happening since my last post! I really want to get Atlas into the fray. This is really the worst time to get AWOLed on. For the voting, I'd prefer one of the following: - Open voting (on the condition that the voter has read the RPG from beginning to end), via poll - Closed voting via PM or poll (doesn't matter) Just my preference.
I would just like to apologize for my absence lately. To be honest my interest in the RPG has fallen off, and as such I haven't been very active. I would like to say that I really enjoyed all of your posts and mutual support, everyone here is not only a good writer but also a good person, as cheesy as it may sound.
Sorry to hear that Rapaz, you were one of the favorite writers in the group! No hard feelings though, come on back if you ever have the urge.
I'm sorry to hear that Rapaz, Igor was a really awesome character. Don't worry, we'll keep him nice and safe for you if you decide to come back. --- With losthawken's permission, I drove my part of the story forwards. I apologize in advanced to RusticOnion if I made Rodrick do/say something that he wouldn't normally. And sorry for dragging the fight scene out so long. I couldn't find a way to make one of the two soldiers simply whack the other one out without it sounding a little under-done. Time to fight some monsters now!
I'd think that an open vote would do a bit better, although maybe a weighted voting system? After all, a reader can only judge on what's posted, here or in the game, but other players know (better) who they're working with. Besides, I don't know if I could count myself as a real "player," after all I've barely started heading in the right direction. And on a side note, sorry to hear you won't be continuing Rapez. And as cheesy as it sounds, I'm sure I speak for everyone when we say thanks for your contributions and compliments.
I wanted to just comment on this RPG. I read through the start page and it all sounded amazing. It's a really long thread though so I wont be taking part as I think I'm just too far behind. All sounds Ace though. Maybe I will catch the next game a bit earlier. Stu

Hi Cyrus, You could always wait and join the game once the next chapter starts (when someone gets the Orb). That way, you wouldn't really have to read everything before it, since it's basically like starting over. Cheers.
