Woo! 1K into my fantasy! Didn't think I had it in me to write 1K words in a fantasy story. xD Let's see if I can keep this up.

My local library has recently been moved and combined (two libraries and two archive centres) to make just one centre. There was an article in the local paper about the loss of stock because of it and I emailed them about it. Turns out they published my email in the paper! Did not expect that, I would've taken more care writing it aha.

I estimate 20k! Probably more. I'm not certain on that because I've been writing in notebooks. If I'm going by pages, I think I'm at 85 or 86 right now. And the end is definitely far in the distance! I am very happy with my progress.

I am back after a few months off! Aand I recently finished the second draft of a novel and it's actually consistent and not falling apart like a ill baked cake. The 8k words missing is just a minor detail...

Words cannot express how thrilled I am right now. I am officially DONE with my first draft of the Thesis! Twenty-four pages, bibliography and all! I'll turn it in tomorrow and for the next two months, I'll hammer it into a nice final draft.

    That's great, Link! :)

Today I read a story I wrote for my kiddos in class. Seeing them all at the edge of their chair, completely sucked into the story, was absolutely great. :)

I needed to do some harsh cutting to my m/s, as the word count was way too high. So far I've managed to cut 10K off and still have four chapters to go. I'm pretty psyched that I was able to get it into a manageable word count range, for when I send out query letters. Sometimes it's hard to skim the fat, but worth it in the end.

I would bet that your manuscript is all the better for its liposurgery.

    Discovered a new historical mystery!

Called Eye of the Red Tsar by Sam Eastman, it's set during Stalin's reign from the perspective of a detective that used to work for the Romanovs'.

Looking forward! xD I think I'm falling in love with historical mysteries. I really do.

You know it is. :) I actually felt relief to get to lop off so much. Every word counts and the fluff needs to go.

24k down on my new novel. I'm also happier now that I've blown off some of my worries to my mum who, for all the blazing rows we've had, said all the right things and was there to cuddle me when I needed it. I really do love my mum.

UPDATE: 28k now! I'm also at one of the major plot twists, which will need some very careful writing to get it down properly. I'm just so excited, but terrified also, because it's a plot that needs to be revealed very gently and carefully over the course of the novel. It's painful trying to get it all down without giving too much away, but it feels so, so good to be writing another novel. :D Fingers crossed it's going to be a good one.

Woo, finally actually doing something to help my unemployment situation. Going to do an IT course and I did an induction thingy where they test your literacy (which I didn't do as well as I should've really >.>) and maths and then hopefully once I've finished that I can do the IT course. Plus, there is the bonus that there was a rather cute guy there today and he should be there again tomorrow. Totally won't be staring at him. >.>

All my attempts at volunteering and getting jobs via recruitment agencies has failed so figured I'd get proof of my skills (which I really needed to do anyway). But yeah, I'm just glad to be doing something!

I started writing this story almost two years ago, but now I have found myself at the final three chapters. Never thought I'd make it this far into completing something like this :S. Feels good, man. Also feels good to finally have my ideas for the follow-up stories falling into place. The full three part story I want to tell that I've had in mind seems more complete than ever. Now, I just gotta get it all written down.

We had an earthquake a couple hours ago. We don't usually get them here in New England, and this one wasn't strong enough to be particularly damaging. Just enough to break up a rather mundane evening.

My favorite YouTuber is Flula Borg. He always makes me laugh and smile, because he is crazy and his German accent is amazing.
