Hello Fellow Writers - I'd really appreciate your weird and wonderful and well-thought out thoughts as always. Having a real dilemma with 2 main characters. I cannot seem to tie their arcs together. Here is a bit more detail. MC1 - male. lawyer wants to win a trial against a specific antangonist who has been cruel to animals. MC2 - male. social activist /doctor who wants to put a halt to the cruelty to animals in general. Both MCs live in the same small town/city. I cannot drop MC2 incase you are thinking that, but making him a supporting act, now that I would welcome if anyone can expand on it. Thanks a bunch.
Maybe Mc2 is a vet - and knew one of the animals in question. Maybe he feels guilty for having not spotted the defendant as being an animal abuser.
Have MC2 be a star trial witness for MC1. Have them fall in together while the case is being built. There are lots of options.
The way you've described the situation I'm having trouble seeing how these two could not know about each other. MC1 looking on google for an expert witness who will deliver a specific type of testimony, the first X candidates don't want to make the necessary commitments, MC2 actually does?
If MC2 is a star witness in a trial led by MC1. , his testimony will centre on the patients he saw as a doctor. Should I describe those scenes *earlier* in the novel or *wait* until his testimony at the trial ? Maybe someone can reply. Thanks
