Hi, all! I imagine this is where I write a short blurb, right? I've been writing for as long as I can hold a pen - whether it was inventing background fluff for my model armies, or full blown attempts at stories. My usual genre of choice is horror, with an emphasis on the psychological and less of the gore and monsters, since that tends to be what I prefer to read. But I've been trying to branch out into SciFi for a while now, since it's what I first started writing and I want to go back to my roots. And I typically write short stories for horror, and I want to tackle something a little longer - which I feel SciFi is a better fit for anyway. Plus, space is pretty freakin' cool. Overwhelming dread and manifest nightmares are fun and all, but sometimes you just need a spaceship and some 'pew pew' noises. 2018 I struck off "get a job" from my to-do list. So now in 2019 it's time to get something published, no matter the format.
Hi @crosswolf, and welcome from me. Sounds as if you really enjoy your writing (which I believe is of more importance than publication although publication would be nice...) Look forward to seeing you around
Oh I definitely enjoy it. The gears have rusted up as of late, so my pace has slowed, but still enjoyable. I don't think I'd aim for publication if I didn't, knowing how much time I'd have to sink into a project to get it to the standard that it gets published.
As a fellow horror fanatic, I bid you welcome! There are plenty of fun and interesting people here...
