    Adultry

Discussion in 'Character Development' started by Nomad416, Jan 17, 2025.

So, in the current story I'm writing, I'm hinting at a love triangle between my MC and two women who absolutely hate each other. The question is, since no abuse or anything is going on (the only way I can really think of as justification of sorts for adultery), can the MC sleep with both without the reader immediately writing him off as scum for good? If so, any advice on how to do it?

Might be difficult, but not entirely impossible.

Have him engage in a passionate relationship with the first, where they both realise they are not good for each other. Then have him settle with the second?

A lot of drama can occur in the midst of all this.

    Just my thought.

    Edit:
Second thought. If you must have it be adultery, then have him in a relationship with one. And have them both equally disinterested in each other, perhaps have her in a secret relationship with someone else at the same time that he engages with the second woman and has a relationship with her?

Yeah, he's in a relationship with Woman A. But since she's already suspecting something there's something between him and Woman B (there's not, aside from her suddenly kissing him at a point when they were alone, I'm gonna have the girlfriend break up with him, giving him "free reign" to engage with the other woman without it technically adultery.

This kinda came to mind after I posted.

Have the two women fulfill his needs in totally different ways. They both give him something different that connects to him on a psychological or spiritual level.
