    Agents.

Discussion in 'Agent Discussion' started by Eryl, Feb 4, 2025.

    Hi everyone,
I had my first fiction book published last autumn and my publisher, and others, think it would make a good tv series/film. I have no idea to go about this and i am told it would be good sense to get an agent. I have found this to be almost impossible anyone any suggestions? UK replies only please.

Your publisher doesn't have connections? That would be my first question. More money for them.

It’s practically impossible to get a film deal from a book that hasn’t already been a best seller. ( and harder still in the uk than it is in the US)

If you were with a big publisher they might have contacts to pitch it but since you are asking here I assume that they aren’t and don’t. You need a good agent who has legit film contacts

do not under any circumstances pay money to anyone for a film pitch, those sites are all scams, legit agents get a percentage on the deal

( incidentally you put this threads on the completions announcements forum, I’ve moved it but please try and put threads where they make sense in future)
