Our off topic area is a place for members of the writing community here to interact socially with light hearted chat, banter, jokes and so on. We no longer allow the debate of contentious issues like religion and politics, as it causes far too many arguments. The key point here is that this board and its sub boards are for members of the writing community. They should not be used as a replacement for your social media, or be your only reason for using the site. We would like to remind users of this board of three particular rules: i) Since this is a site for writers, the expectation is that you will communicate in writing, and in English. Therefore posts consisting only of links, memes, smileys, or other languages, are not allowed. ii) We do not allow asking for, or giving, specific professional advice (such as psychiatric, medical, legal, financial etc). On the internet no one knows anyone's credentials for sure. If you want advice of this kind you should see a suitably qualified expert in the real world. iii) Light hearted banter is allowed, bullying and harassment are not. Know the difference. Lastly since this is a board for social interaction, it is natural that friendships will form here which will carry on outside the site. We have even had members fall in lurve and have their writing rooms thrill to the pitter patter of tiny inkwells. However please use your common sense before giving anyone your real name, contact details, or sharing other personal or intimate information.
