I am not the brightest lightbulb on the Christmas tree, and I apologize for it. Er... do newbies have to make 20 brand new posts, or is that 20 posts, either new or replies to other people's posts? Either way, I will try to be more engaging than I have been so far!
You don’t have to, it’s just the threshold from new member to member twenty posts and 14 days membership there are likewise other thresholds to active member, senior member and so on, but there is no rule that you have to progress through grades if you don’t want to the only have to rule is in the workshop where you have to give two crits for each thread you post for crit posts can be replied to other people or on your own threads,
Oh, you are awesome! Thank you for the information! And I'll get to critiquing as soon as I can. Even if I don't have anything to post yet, it's nice to get some critique practice in, and it's nice to participate!
Any post qualifies. You don't have to start 20 new threads, a reply is a post too. You've already made 10 posts. Under your username they're called Messages (which is a little confusing...). So you're halfway there. And you've only been here three days so far (you joined on Thursday and it's Saturday now). By the time you hit (what is it? Fourteen days?) you'll be well past 20 posts.
