    Best free audio player

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by TIG, Aug 23, 2021.

So what is the best free audio player for an android?

Obviously if you want to ask (or answer) about other devices, it'll be beneficial to all, so go ahead.

I use mostly "antennapod" for podcasts, which I download through my phone, but sometimes I want to play long books or lectures, or even podcasts that are no longer updating, so I'm using "smart audiobook".

Sometimes, if I get, say, a serious of lectures (let's say 5 lectures, 40 min each, podcast doesn't update) I'm in a tight spot because I'm not sure if the best thing for me would be antennapod, smart audiobook, or something else.

But I'd love to hear what you're using, and what you've tried and don't like. What you're using for music as well.
What are the little things that make one audio bad in your eyes and the other one a little better than the other kazillion ones?

I especially want to know what you have to say about the folder policy. If you have folders within folders, does your player keep them that way when you copy and paste them into your device?

And anything else you want to say, shoot.

I use Audify but I just make a few playlists for when I'm driving. Has occasional ads but it's not disruptive.

    For video I like KMPlayer
