So I'm preemptively working on the setting of my murder mystery because I don't want to have to improvise on the fly when I start writing The primary setting is an AirBnB in Stowe, Vermont and it needs to be big enough to comfortably sleep eight people [sleeping arrangements by personal choice are 2 people in bedroom #1, 2 people in bedroom #2, 1 person in bedroom #3, 2 people in bedroom #4, and one guy on the couch because he wanted to sleep there] and there has to be enough room for people to be separated in small groups for tension So what would be a good approximate for square footage and room layout taking into consideration that I would like people to have a tangible amount of distance from one another and the main meeting place is the living room/kitchen? The one thing I've come up with is that the setting can be a house built into the side of a mountain, which would take care of an abnormal layout, but if any of you have other ideas I'd love to hear them
2000 square feet is roomy. 2500 is big, and 3000 is really big, comparatively speaking. Go look at Airbnbs on line. Or 4 bedroom houses in general. Have you ever been to Stowe? The town is tiny.
I have not, and just found an airbnb at the foot of mt. mansfield that I can reference so thank you for that recommendation :]
