i have not, but i know of them. my dad and uncles had them. I have the grip strengtheners that are like bands that go on the fingers and you open and close your hand. I didnt really have a need for them, but recently, i've been interested in improving my grip strength. its needed in the type of races I do, and the last 3 times i've run them, i lost time in anything that required me to grasp things (bars, rings, rope)
