    About me

Discussion in 'Support & Feedback' started by VM80, Aug 28, 2011.

Is there a way to not put anything under religion/politics?

I've seen a few profiles that only have couple of 'About me' fields. So I assume this can be modified by the user? Thanks.

you don't have to put anything in any of the fields, if you don't want to... unless, of course, some are marked 'mandatory'...

Thanks good to know. But I was trying to remove, i.e. what I'd put for politics (frankly none of those choices seem to fit), but it's not letting me put 'nothing' now.

Yeah, they didn't have a 'Somewhat conservative yet somewhat libertarian' choice, so I just went with the closest one.

It's a longstanding gripe. It defines politics in very American terms. For example, I am not a liberal. I'm a socialist. But it uses liberal as the opposite of conservative, so my options are limited.

Though, to be honest, it doesn't keep me up at night.

I consider myself politically "atheist", so I'd like to be able to put absolutely nothing as well. *Goes to look at what I DID put.*

Agreed, that should be an option.

But I do think that in the grand scheme of things, it isn't the most essential change.

I'm not that bothered, really. Just wondered how some people removed the field, completely, from their page.

If you do not fill in the field to begin with then it will not display :)

and if you did fill it in, then all you have to do is 'edit' your profile and unfill it... then it won't show on your profile page...

Why not just have all of those categories where you need to pick an answer replaced with a text box that you just just fill in? It will make threads like this a thing of the past.
