Freelance writing job

Okay, so I found a pretty great listing for freelance writing work. The pay is fine and they don't seem to be demanding a B.A. in English. The thing is they want someone to apply with a writing sample? Here's a brief excerpt from the listing.

"We work with all kinds of customer niches! From travel agents and online paint retailers to skincare professionals and snack foods, there is a wide variety of writing to be done!"

So it's sort of perfect in the way that I really can write about any subject and convey whatever it is they want. Whether its product descriptions or pitches etc. I just dont know exactly what they would expect from a writing sample?

 

It sounds like they want to see that you can write good ad copy.

 

So just pick anything?

 

I have no idea. Maybe pick some of your best stuff?

 

Or ask them what they're looking for.

 

They seem to be pretty eclectic. I suppose I'll just write a product placement for a random snack food.
