    Writer’s playground challenge

Discussion in 'Writing Contests' started by NobodySpecial, Jan 19, 2022.

This one sounds fun, and it’s rigged to put all entrants on a level playing field.

You choose a character from the list, choose a setting from the list, they provide the prompt everyone uses, and a herring- something that has to appear somewhere in the story. Make it a red herring or don’t, it’s up to you, but it has to be in the story.

Nobody gets the lists or the prompt until the contest starts (Feb 24, 2022). Then you get 10 days to produce, and submit a 3000 word short story of any genre that floats your boat. 100 word grace either way.

You retain all rights. $28 entry fee, $500 first prize, $100 tenth place prize.

Details and rules on the web page.
