    Unique Name for My MC

Discussion in 'Character Development' started by aimi_aiko, Jun 27, 2011.

I am gathering ideas and such for a Fantasy Novel that I wish to begin soon. I began researching for a name to use for my MC, but I had no luck. As frustrating as it may seem, I always tend to take time and give a lot of thought for my MC's name, because my MCs are very important to the story, and I always like for them to stand out.

I'm needing some ideas and suggestions I could possibly use or go by in order to give my MC a name. Here are some things you may want to know in order to help:

    -My MC is female
    -She is a vampire assassin
    -I prefer a name beginning with "S"
-She is very dangerous, strong and loyal
-She has a very focused and determined attitude

If you need any other info about my MC, be sure to ask.

    Thanks in advance.

Most times my characters tell me what their names are. Almost like they have voices of their own and they speak to me. I'm unearthing their stories, and they already have names -- I just have to discover them.

I don't know if that helps or not. I don't write fantasy, and it's hard to imagine what a vampire assassin would be called. But I'll be as helpful as I can. I met a girl named Soranya recently, and I thought of that name first. I also thought of Sahara, Saria, Sarina & Sabrina.

Thanks for the suggestions! The name Soranya sounds quite interesting. :)
