I was perusing Amazon and noticed this at the bottom of the page in recommendations: Anatomy of Genres by John Truby I remember some tantalizing tidbits he wrote about needing to understand genre, probably in Anatomy of Story, and I wished he would write a book about it. He seemed to have a real depth of uncommon knowledge on the subject. Well, it's here now (only took about a decade)!
Might have to add it to my Christmas list. Anatomy of Story was pretty intense. It helps to have read "The Godfather," if I remember right. Truby loves that example.
