Do all computer keyboards have an alt key on each side of the space bar?

Apparently not... looked on google images. Here's one in particular. I mean it's still there, but not where you want it to be. And some have alt and alt GR. So they're both alt, but different. I'm not sure that will work?

Well you sure know how to rain on a guy's parade and stomp on his family jewels.

Aw :( I'm sorry. I would just run with it. The majority do, apparently, so it makes sense to just run with it. Who cares if it doesn't apply to everyone? Show me something that does, lol

I'll paraphrase a quote from someone, the only thing we know for sure, is there is nothing out there that is for sure.

The right and left alt keys are not entirely equivalent. If you work with key mappings other than US English, you'll discover this very quickly.

I would not ever purchase a keyboard without both alt keys.

The keyboard I'm currently working on (no, not my own), has an Alt key to the left of the space bar and an Alt Gr key to the right. And I have to admit that I have no idea what's the difference between the two...

i don't care where it is, since i don't ever have to 'touch type' it, anyway... as long as all the standard keys i do touch type are in the 'right' places, arrangement of others is not a problem...

Alt is for commands, and is like a control. Alt Gr is like a shift: e.g., in Italian keyboards, the same key hold ò, # and @: # is shift-ò, @ is AltGr-ò. Unless you remap the keyboard, of course.

Oh yes there is. Two things are certain in life: death and taxes.

    my version is:

the only thing i can be really sure of is that i can't be sure of anything... just because something hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it never will...

The majority? Well, maybe it's the US layout, but there's a lot of world outside the USA. My keyboard (standard British English) doesn't have that layout, presumably because I'm more likely to need the Euro symbol than most Usanians.
