I'm not up to date on my self-publishing news. Anyone know who the current best selling self published authors are, who got known for their books alone, without leaning on another platform? No fan fiction gurus No BookTubers / AuthorTubers No one famous for something else (musicians, actors, politicians) No literary agents No Instagram models No one who's family owns a publishing company No journalists Just books. Straight up wrote books, posted about them on social media, and sold a ton. Any names? I don't doubt these people are out there. I just don't know them, and I want to buy a couple of books.
L J Ross springs to mind - she was at one time last year 1,2,3,4. and 5 best selling whole store on amazon uk and amazon.com .. she writes crime fiction set in northumberland Mark Dawson made just over a million dollars last year - writes in the lee child type vein Adam Croft made circa 400k - writes psycological thrillers incidentally no one makes a ton by posting about their books on social media - you have to advertise
