    Ghost of a Pithy Title

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by SocksFox, Oct 12, 2014.

With Halloween just around the corner, paranormal everything is plastered across multiple mediums and platforms, so my question is this: Do you believe in paranormal?

I've been surprised by some folks' replies to the subject and was curious about what fellow writers think.

I believe in the paranormal to the same extent that my username isn't the last name of a four-foot-tall insane, cross-hatched beard wearer, who perpetually dawns only the most supple of pink wool trousers. No pleats.

    Hmm

    I'm not really sure XD

Haven't seen any proof of it but a lot of people seem to have but on the flip side a lot of people are able to give rational explanation for paranormal occurrences. But if me and my friends go to places that are supposedly haunted ....which we've done.

Ya know visit the local legends spots that are apparently haunted. I approach it with skepticism and never seen anything like ghostly or paranormal there but it still scares me....still get a sense of that creeping feeling up your spine and the idea that something might pop out or you might have an encounter.

    Its pretty fun XD

Soooo despite the skepticism you could say I go with an eagerness and optimism for something paranormal or supernatural to happen....which it hasn't but hey its still fun and creepy.

As for do I believe? Not sure, nothing like that has happened to me soooo I've become more skeptic then most in my family.

Members of my family (My mom, aunts and uncles) all have had stuff like that happened to them and even said an apartment they were living in (they all shared a big apartment at one point) was haunted by the ghost of a boy whom all claimed to have encounters with XD

Wasn't around for that and my eldest brother was only a baby at the time but even he said he saw a kid around.

Soooo can't say if there was a ghost kid running around hehheehe but I did question them a lot about it but they all seemed pretty honest about it and confirmed there was not a child living in the building or a way for a child in that they knew of.

    *Shrug*

    But

I'm skeptic and do like to explore every rational explanation that's possible but I don't find it totally unreasonable that 'something' odd could exist like that and hell its fun to keep an open mind sometimes, makes things creepier when you're exploring.

No - I'm not sure I would want to, either. I think I can understand why people might, but believe in anything supernatural is a pleasure that has always been closed to me.
