    Karma works!!

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by Wreybies, Sep 2, 2009.

A couple of months ago I started a thread concerning something that happened to my hubby at his job. Long story short, a nepotistic dynamic caused my husband to get screwed over at his job and he has been very unhappy there ever since. His position and title were changed and all kind of yucky was going on for him.

    Jump to today.

The organization which serves as the auditing agency for the company where William currently works has extended to him, completely unsolicited, a position within their organization. William, who has an intense sense of loyalty to his current job, even tho they have screwed him over, has an interview today with the auditing agency. I have done and said everything I can think of to let William know that this is karma working in his favor, that this is a good thing.

Anywho... I would ask that my friends here at the forum send William their good wishes because he totally deserves this opportunity.

    Unfortunately, yes.

The job would have been a government job, which would have meant a number of good things if not for the present administrational mood of the island. The new governor, very rightfully so, has taken it upon himself to swing a very big axe at 'big government' here in Puerto Rico. This means that the position being proffered to William was without any stability, health plan, etc.

Still, I have tried to keep with the idea (to William) that the fact that this offer came to him unsolicited is proof positive that he is known person in the field where he works and that there are options out there for him when he decides that his frustration with the present work environment supersedes his loyalty to the organization.

Ah well. Too bad the position evaporated, but as you say, there's a lot he can feel good about for the consideration alone.

This is so true. Even if this particular job offer wasn't an ideal one, it shows that he's a valuable employee that other places are interested in. Good for him! He can move on to bigger and better things when the time comes to leave his current job. :D
