    YA Title Help

Discussion in 'Plot Development' started by New_Writer55, Feb 29, 2016.

My friend and I are struggling to come up for a book title. Need suggestions, here's the synopsis:
About 2 best friends, Brooklyn & India, who are bored one day and decide to look up their family trees on ancestry.com and find out they're actually fraternal twins. Their story explodes and the 2 small town sisters become famous overnight.

I'm curious as to how much of the novel you've actually written?

Personally, I tend to give my stuff temporary title's that explain what the novel is about in two or three words, until I decide on something that fits.

Sometimes you need to write the story and see if the title comes to you, it takes patience.

If you've finished writing it, you could go back and read it to see if you find something that fits, such as a phrase or a word.

Or you could just call it Brooklyn & India, Rainbow Rowell-style.

I agree with Isabella; don't write a story from a title. Write it out and trust me—the name will come! The title of my current novel has jumped from single, one-syllable words to long, six-word phrases. Do what you set out to do and write. :)

what happens once their story explodes and they become famous? is it all parties and beach houses? do they use their newfound celebrity status to do good? to further their careers? does it threaten to end their friendship?

Use a mostly-black cover and watch the accidental $$$ roll in.
