Hello! I'm Sofia, and I am currently very snowed in in beautiful Scotland. I am a YA fantasy writer currently working on the first instalment of a series inspired by Egyptian mythology (or trying to, as much as one can during a global pandemic whilst trying to get freelance work). I've been looking for writing communities for a while now and came across this forum, so I figured I would join and say hi. Off I go now, to explore all the sub-forums.
Hello to you. I'm of Scots ancestry on the side of my maternal grandfather. It's always nice to encounter a real Scot.
I'm just an honorary Scot, I'm afraid; I've lived here for nearly 10 years, but am originally from other (not as cold) pastures.
Hi Sofia - Welcome to the forum! I, like you, am an honorary Scot who has been here for nearly 35 years ...as of 1 May this year. I am from colder pastures (in the winter anyway; I grew up on the wrong side of the Canadian border) but this winter certainly has been snowy here in Scotland, hasn't it? Occasionally we get 'winter.' Hope you find a lot to interest you here on the forum. I certainly have, and have made many good friends here too. In case we get snowed in, or locked down, there's always something else to do.
Hi sofia . Hope this forums meets your expectations and more. Gives you something else to do over the Lockdown period anyway. Happy forum browsing.
I've never been to Scotland, but I do like Scotch whiskey! When I can afford the good stuff that is. Usually though I settle for the cheap Kentucky bourbon. Which sounds weird, you'd think Bourbon would be French. But I digress. Welcome to our humble abode! No snow here, but then this place is strictly virtual.
That IS the 'wrong side' of the Canadian border! I would have killed to be a Canadian. I LOVE Canada. Every time I visited it, I wanted to stay.
