    Ready to jump in!

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by thecox, Mar 27, 2008.

This is my first time on this writer's forum and I'm looking forward to sharing my writing ideas and short stories. I plan on writing in the upcoming writing contest and getting feedback on that if possible.

I've been writing since I was ten and just recently the whole process has started clicking for me. It's exciting and I'm ready to explore it further.

But even more, I love to edit! So by all means, if you need any short stories looked over or sentence structure tightened, I'm sure I can help iron out the kinks if you send me a pm. Also, check out my alpha-blog, listed in my signature. I look forward to working with everybody. Thanks!

hello and welcome to the fourm. I hope that you have a wonderful time here with all of us.

If keys end up going missing from your keyboard it means you had a visit from Calamity Amity during the night. Keep your keyboard locked up! o_O (jokes)

Anyway glad to have you here and like I said I hope you have a great time with allof us here at WF.org.

Hello The Cox, Welcome to the Writing Forums.

I'm glad to see you love to review/edit. We place a high premium on developing reviewing skills, largely for the added value it provides to your own writing.

If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well!

As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information.

Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!
