Best wishes to all from a wannabe writer. I appreciate your tolerance of a hack like me, and I've gained both entertainment and knowledge here. I've laid some plans. I have two self-help projects I started. Discouragement set in when I realized I had too narrow a topic to fill a proper book. Yesterday I discovered there are many such short books on Kindle. I should join the fray and I figure I'll have two things to offer. Complete cleanliness from AI, and the subjects are of daily importance to me. I can pontificate with self-appointed authority. Which, of course, is also what flat-earthers do. I'll try to strike a loftier tone. Peace on earth, save for conflicted fictional characters, and good will toward all.
This year, Hanukkah falls on the same day as Christmas. So, I'd like to take the opportunity to wish all of you a ... *takes a deep breath* Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Joyous Yule, Happy Holidays, Merry Bah Humbug, Awesome Atheist Wednesday, or Incredible [Insert Title Here]. However you spend the day (me, it's summoning the energy and enthusiasm to prepare my Boxing Day dinner, but the gravitational pull of my computer chair is too great), I hope you enjoy it. And even if it doesn't go the way you've planned, don't stress. It doesn't mean that everything is ruined, no matter what some people may believe. It's just an anecdote to chuckle about next year, or better yet, laugh about it now. Have a great day!

Oh, good. Glad to see this thread. I was wanting to bring New Year's greetings, and wasn't sure where'd be the best place for them. If I have any sense I'll spend more time here in 2025. I've been too dedicated to Facebook the past few months, on the principle that potential readers and not just fellow authors might see my posts there. But lately it's been like an emotionally abusive lover, always promising and never delivering. I'm not saying anyone's particularly sane around here, but it's an insanity I can deal with. So, happy new year!
That's right. We've been through insanity and out the other end, where it's calm, and the water lapping at the shore is so clear, you can see through the earth and out the other side.
