    Heitaum - Uchronia/SF writer

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by Heitaum, Aug 1, 2023.

    Hello everyone :)

I'm Heitaum, a 27 yo french guy who've been writing for as long as I remember.
    In real life I'm a software engineer, a tabletop-role-playing and video-game-enjoying nerd.

I've just finished writing a novel, taking place in a dystopian/uchronic Europe and, before attempting to publish it, I tried to translate it in english, using a mix of automatic translators and my own skills.

I'm hoping I can get a few chapters reviewed here to check however my homemade translation is okay or if it's useless crap. Particularly regarding Synthax and grammar.

I'll try to read some of your text too. Best case scenario, I can give some help. Worst case scenario, I'll improve my english ? See you soon under your texts :)

    Heitaum

Hi Heitaum, and welcome to WF.

First ... congratulations on completing your novel.

I can imagine it is quite a task to translate a novel from French to English, ore indeed from any language. What automatic translators are you using? I ask because I live in Portugal and often try to translate Portuguese text into English with some interesting results. :)
