Hello All. My name is Zander and I am new to the forum. I am looking forward to jumping in a becoming an active member of this site.

Here is a bout me. I love to write. Do it for fun as a way to relieve stress. Dont know if I am ever going to try and be published. Dont think I am good enough to be for starters. Second trying to be published and making things perfect will take the fun out if it.

I write Fantasy, Horror, fiction short stories, and poems.

I am looking forward to getting to know everyone.

    Hey, Zander

I'm one of the forum moderators, and I want to welcome you to the forum!

In a way, it's refreshing to have a new member admit that they are writing for their own enjoyment and don't know whether this will take them anywhere or not. I think that's the best way to get your writing venture going. You want to write, you like to write. Without those motivations, writing could easily turn into a joyless slog.

Getting published is WAY down the road, and it's not necessary to have that as a goal. As long as you're enjoying yourself, and maybe willing to learn how to write more skillfully, you'll be giving yourself a chance at publication, if you eventually decide you'd like to go for it. Self-publication is certainly an option these days. However, you don't want to jump into that too soon, because I suspect you'll want to be proud of what you publish. So taking your time and finding out if you are any 'good,' is a really sensible way to approach the issue. And I would hope you continue to have fun exploring the possibilities.

I know I got my own start with creative writing by simply having a story in my head that I wanted to write. I had no idea if it would work or not. But I just got started, and discovered that creative writing truly was the most fun I've had sitting down. (And yes, it did work ...eventually. I finished the novel.)

Anyway, while you're getting started, please do read these two links. They will help you get oriented, and will give you an idea of what the forum is like, what we expect, and what we offer.

Hi @Zander Willmore and welcome from me.

This is a friendly, well moderated, and very inclusive forum. Somewhere in the world is the very best writer, somewhere the very worst. The rest of us fall somewhere between. Jump in, join in, and enjoy.
