Hello everyone! My name is Chris (a.k.a. Calamity Chris). I am new to the forums and also rather new to fiction writing. I recently started writing as a way to deal with PTSD and anxiety. I was in the military for 5 years with a tour to Afghanistan. After returning home, things were becoming increasingly more complicated for me. I found that I was struggling to do things that previously were not a problem for me. I realized that I had developed a lot of anxiety when I was in larger crowds (or a lot of people in general). It sucks, but I manage. However, these struggles led me to take up journaling and, by extension, fiction writing. I am particularly fond of horror and hope to post some short stories for you all now and then. Overall, I am hoping to work on my writing skills. I hope that I can find support here as well as good constructive criticism! I appreciate you taking the time to read my introduction and I hope to make some good friends here. Thank you and happy writing!
Everything i have heard says the rock pile was a shit show. I spent time in the sand box myself. Welcome to the forums. The workshop has a two for one rule, which i personally found helpful, in my own work.
Thanks for your service as well my friend! I look forward to starting on some critiques and eventually posting some of my own work.
Hey Chris, glad to have you in here. Journaling is a great skill/habit for writers, and a great way to develop your ideas. I basically use my blog in here as my journal now. Hope you fit right in and start taking part in discussions.
